First time trying to use Win10XPE and on the first initial build it fails with error "Error: Wimlib extract Winre.wim image file from install.wim return: 28".  Additionally, the download page says it cannot connect to any server for projects even through I am not using a proxy and confirmed allow rules in Windows Firewall.  Log shows this portion:

Download your Media from here > https://tb.rg-adguard.net/public.php
Mount the ISO & copy the contents of the ISO to a Folder on your HDD
The ISO Must contain an Install.wim in the /sources/ folder
On the Win10XPE opening Interface - Hit the "Select the Windows 10 Source Folder" Button & point to the Folder you created with the media contents...
The upper right "Download" button is not used in Project...
Read the Included "Win10XPE - How To Quick Start Guide"

Did all of that.

Extracted Win10_1909_English_x64.iso downloaded using link in the program (same as what you listed).  Extracted iso to a folder of the same name under D:\Win10XPE.  Confirmed Install.wim is in the sources folder.  I get error "Error: Wimlib extract Winre.wim image file from install.wim return: 28" on step 2/39 when I hit "Play".  I believe I have followed the guide exactly but am hitting this error.

Please advise

Hi AceXMachine,

1) "it cannot connect to any server for projects" --> It is winbuilder bug
2) Do not use that "Download" anyway, Win10XPE does not have any server and incompatible to other projects on the server.
Win10XPE only distributed with packages and must be used on its own folder without any other projects like other none-Plugin projects.
See: http://TheOven.org/index.php?topic=3094
Hopefully on the next package "Download" button will be disabled to avoid such things.

*
Additional:
I could not find ErrorLevel info for wimlib-imagex.exe on internet yet, no idea what 28 means, It is a new one around.

WIMLIB_ERR_INVALID_RESOURCE_HASH

Hi Malok,

2 questions:
1) How did you find that
2) Generally, this should be accompanied by a Description!

Ok, thats fine.  I hit the button at some point and got those errors so I just wanted to make sure it wasn't related.  The only real issue is this "Return: 28" error then

I found it at https://wimlib.net/apidoc/group__G__general.html listed under Enumerations "WIMLIB_ERR_INVALID_RESOURCE_HASH = 28"

Return values
WIMLIB_ERR_DECOMPRESSION   The WIM file contains invalid compressed data.
WIMLIB_ERR_INVALID_METADATA_RESOURCE   The metadata resource for an image is invalid.
WIMLIB_ERR_INVALID_RESOURCE_HASH   File data stored in the WIM file is corrupt.
WIMLIB_ERR_RESOURCE_NOT_FOUND   The data for a file in an image could not be found. See Creating and handling non-standalone WIMs.

According to this, it would seem my WIM is corrupt?

I will redownload the ISO when I get back home (its on my desktop)

Ok, so I'm using Teamviewer to remote into my desktop at home.  I confirmed that winre.wim under intall.wim\6\Windows\System32\Recovery won't open in 7zip and throws a CRC error.  I'm redownloading the ISO now and will check it when it is finished.

Ok, this is weird.  Winre.wim throws a CRC if I try to open it from within Install.wim using 7zip.  But if I extract it and open Winre.wim in 7zip afterwards it opens fine......wtf?

Do not.
Something I never did....

Better report to 7-zip, Igor respond quickly and fix accordingly.

This link is quite active but also includes bug reports https://sourceforge.net/p/sevenzip/discussion/45797/
This link also there https://sourceforge.net/p/sevenzip/bugs/

Maybe it is all about using your host - Temp folder having some sort of permission .......

But if I extract it and open Winre.wim in 7zip afterwards it opens fine......wtf?

one more drop of info.

Go into "LOG" and Save As HTML
Open XPE working directory - compress HTML file

On Opening interface "Enable Support Log" below Donate Button
Proceed with Build - then
Attach compressed log to forum Post...
