Gena ZIP distributions updated

Hi Everyone,

Well, since Gena was released in mid-March, there have been 168 individual updates to the project.

As such, it is high time the ZIP archives of the project were updated. This has now been done and can be found here: http://gena.CWCodes.net

A word of explanation about the changed ZIP distribution method. We are now distributing a very minimal option which we are calling 'Gena Appetizer'. It is intended for quick tests in an emulator. Our standard, main distribution we are calling 'Gena Meal'. This contains tweaks, drivers, and lots of apps targeted towards PC rescure situations. Both of these two mentioned packages can run stand-alone. The third distribution, however, does not run stand-alone and is designed to supplement the standard Gena Meal distribution. We are calling it 'Gena Sweets'. It contains many more applications which extend the functionality of the PE.

As always, thanks to all those who have contrinuted to this release, particuarly BlueLife (script fixes and utilities), JFX (Themes support), Nikzzzz (various script fixes and improvements), and acus (script fixes).

I'm very happy to be able to have these ZIP files finally updated. It has taken a while with various scripts that we wanted to update etc. before releasing. Finally there...

And already there are some updates on the Gena server. This will have to be downloaded through the Download Centre or with BlueLife_ExactServer as I'm not going to update the ZIPs just yet.

Well,
today is not lucky day (13.06.2011)
you know I begin to avoid 13 for a while now (even not having such beliefs, following a hunch, I guess even without believing I became a bit more emotional in time  )
and updates are not effecting packages stability  (only adding makecab.exe as default  )

I am consistently failing to download the Gena Appetizer from MediaFire.
Can you check that the download is working?

I've just finished uploading updated ZIP files, since a number of updates have been made the last couple of days. Hopefully this fixes your issue.

Hi,

I still cannot download the appetizer and now Sweets. Meal downloads no problem. I tried Firefox, IE and JDownloader, but get the Unable to connect try again message for Appetizer and sweets. I think this is a problem with MediaFire.
Can you upload to another share host, Rapidshare or MegaUpload and provide the mirror links?

I tried downloading Gena Appetizer -- all worked fine with Firefox.

I'm on a slow internet connection, so it is quite a task to upload which I won't be able to do just yet unfortunately. You can get basically the same by selecting between the 'Minimal', 'Recommended', and 'Complete' options in the WB Download Centre.

But what could be wrong with MediaFire that it works for me but not for you?

These days I am also on slow and bad connection (and old pc....)
As written before, "Gena Appetizer" is only for newbies, and you are not one of them 
Since You have "Gena Meal" following defination here

"Gena Appetizer" = "Gena Meal" with Only Basic Scripts (default) and CreateISO.

would get you what you looking for 

I'll use and customise the Meal, yum .

Hi Galapo,

I got another report of failure from Kare when downloading zip packages (download page via button), and reason found, "IE06"
not tested here, but I guess now reproducable hence fixable easly 

I've updated the download buttons from HTML-generated buttons to images. Hopefully that works for Kare now.

thanks a lot for making update ,  just to suggest, in PECMD script, add the following options if you can easily.

1- use PECMD from THIS location
2- use PECMD.INI file from THIS location


p.s you can add the link to the sample files topic of PECMD , which i shared a while ago.
in case you do , i will update PECMD.INI with //  of begning of every code, to explain what it does , and when to use it. etc .

I've updated the PECMD script with the options you requested. Now available on the server, along with a new driver script for adding DriverPacks WLAN drivers.

Regarding the PrepPE script, as the description says it "provides initial project preparation and performs dependency checks." That is, it makes checks on the source provided and make all the necessary adjustments for preparing for the build, as well as making dependency checks in order to see if the build can complete (and if not, provides the reason so the user can make the necessary adjustment).

I have just updated the ZIP distribution files. As always, plenty of updates since the last package generation.

The main need for the update was the 'Finish' folder has been renamed to 'Finals', standardising with Win7PE SE.
