After building a default (small project) Win7PE SE x86 ISO and booting it in VMware I was surprised that it does not see the VMware hard drive (C:)

* Why are the VMware drivers not builtin?

I thought I would try to integrate the DP_MassStorage_wnt6-x86_12121.7z drivers using the Drivers -> Driver Integration script (zz_Drivers.script)

I placed the DP_MassStorage_wnt6-x86_12121.7z file into the "Workbench\Common\Drivers_x86" folder

I then expanded the file into a subfolder called "Workbench\Common\Drivers_x86\DP_MassStorage_wnt6-x86_12121"

Within the DP_MassStorage_wnt6-x86_12121 folder are the following files/folders

x86\All
x86\Server
x86\Vista
x86\Win7
MassStorage_x86.txt

* What is the correct folder layout for "Workbench\Common\Drivers_x86", should there be sub-folders, do I need the All,Server,Vista,Win7 folders, or just the All or Win7?

I am also having trouble trying to install drivers after boot using Snappy Driver Installer (http://sourceforge.net/projects/snappy-driver-installer/)

I run the following command

SDI_R.exe /drp_dir:DRV /index_dir:Index /output_dir:"%Temp%" /log_dir:"%Temp%" -hintdelay:500 -filters:1186 /nosnapshot /norestorepnt /nogui /license /autoinstall /autoclose

This works fine in Gena but in Win7PE I keep geeting a Security Warning about unsigned drivers and I have to click install.

* Since this is not x64, how do I disable that warning?

Thanks!

After your build use launch BootICE in Windows7pe and click BCD tab.

Choose "Other BCD file" and then navigate to this path: WindowsPESE\Target\Win7PESE\Boot\bcd
Then select Pro Mode button at the bottom.

Click: Application Objects > Win7PESE x86
(Or what ever yours is called under application objects)

Right click under "EMSENABLE" and select "NEW ELEMENT"

Keep hitting the D key until it highlights "DisableIntegrityChecks"
(Hit the D key 22 times)

Choose True or ON.

Go back to Windows7PE SE and select Finals > Post Config

Do create new target image and iso and your done.

Windows 7 pe will now boot and you can assign any driver without issue.
