I feel we may find the reason for overuse CPU,

The guest number always around ~50 looking at topics which are I guess around ~half of the allowed connection,

and without login requirement who knows .....

Something to check when you can find time Galapo ...... :turtle:

Hi Galapo,

The guest number always 40<x<50 since my last post on current topic whenever I login,

and today now I see 66 Guests, 7 Users (x=59 Guests)

maybe this is a sign of upcoming "overuse CPU" shutdown again .....
Have an eye when you find the free time

See You

Hi Lancelot,

Thanks for reporting.

It seems to be working on my end. Could you post a couple of links that have the issue?

I'm confused by the guest number. I assume it's just bots attempting to connect to the forum.

I'd love to get some time to update the forum and reattempt opening it to the public.

Regards,
Galapo.

Hi Galapo

I'm not sure I understand why, but if I try, it requires me to login, but if you look at 'Users Online' --> 'guests' it shows them as viewing topics

Hi Galapo,

It is working now, after It breaks files on server to 0 byte and I fixed later when I do not get any more connection refused.
I reply to current topic to give you the time for a "log" check if required.
With "login only" connection to forum, I did not expect such failure ....

I'm confused by the guest number. I assume it's just bots attempting to connect to the forum.
I believe there is a "Guest Login" which is used by bots etc. and probably scanning or copy forum.
Since you change forum to "Login only" Guest number always 40<x<50 , very stable (static), probably same bots .....

I'd love to get some time to update the forum and reattempt opening it to the public.
Good news

If you have time to add generate Azin....zip package like other projects I will be glad.

Hi Galapo,

It comes and goes, It was working 15 minutes ago, and not working again.

Bad part is, "connection refused" happens after login + after "send .\updates.ini" which cause updates.ini 0 byte

on FileZilla it says "Could not retrieve directory listing" which is result of "connection refused" to List command after login.

ps: I get "You are user number 2 of 150 allowed"

It starts to happen too frequently, now again broke a server and waiting "connection refused" pass away to fix manually......

ps: also happened yesterday and I fixed today. Now happen today and I am waiting to fix .....

and now working again. And I fixed.

Yesterday It took a lot more time, so I wait today and fix.

As written it comes and goes ... I reply current topic to give "The Time" of failure that is all.

Sorry for the inconvenience. Lancelot let me know and I had a look at it yesterday.

The issue was that the server no longer supports PHP 5, so I had to make some manual fixes to get it working under 7.0.

Regards,
Galapo.

Hi Galapo,

I tried to register a new user to forum following
justgonnalurkabit Reply 10 http://theoven.org/index.php?topic=3182.msg39945#msg39945
and sharp Reply 13

I could not answer verification question

What is the fifth word in this sentence:
since there is no sentence ?
-I tried using letter with "Type the letters shown in the picture:" but it did not work

I always get

You did not answer the verification questions correctly.
I test with the latest version of all known browsers: FireFox, Opera, Chrome, IE, Edge

I guess justgonnalurkabit and sharp are luckier,
 they answer verification question,
but they did not get verification e-mail.

Thanks for the tip Jimehc, lots of years later I register again.

Anyway, as seen I register and an activation e-mail (Gmail) came to me (to the Spam folder) after 2 minutes and now I can log in and reply.

I guess the problem maybe on the e-mail provider side, at least I can say Gmail works fine.
