Hello folks,

@oliverjia: Could you, please, do the same test I have asked you before, but now extract the "innounp.exe" executable to the script Work folder and then drag and drop it into cmd.exe windows?

Another test: Use the "Extract" button in the script interface, but with the option "Run silently" unchecked.

Please, post back here your results.

@everybody: Does anybody else has this problem oliverjia has in the same scenario he is working (Windows 8.1 Enterprise x64 with Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 + Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Pro v2.0) or a similar one?

Best regards,

Aeolis

sure

we have solved it long while ago  (no report since than )

Reason: Windows (shortly), it is quite common with windows for a long while now (since xp32 as far as I know), You can send "The one million dollars" anytime you like.

not only problem had been defined long while ago, solution also provided on reply 93 above,
that is the reason we do not have innounp reports around anymore with lots of innounp plugins around,
Plugin Creator (Innounp) http://theoven.org/index.php?topic=178.0 (reply 2) not created only for fun,
but for innounp popularity and also to avoid end user face your plugin innounp problem.

I have very limited free time that I can only provide the known info to guide right direction for solutions.
Well, you can continue discovering the known,
   Have fun.

when run innounp.exe from work folder (drag and drop into cmd), it appears to be working.

C:\Users\Mxxx>"C:\Winbuilder\Workbench\Common\AOMEI Backupper\innounp.exe"
innounp, the Inno Setup Unpacker. Version 0.40
Usage: innounp [command] [options] <setup.exe or setup.0> [@filelist] [filemask
...]
Commands:
  (no)   display general installation info
-v     verbosely list the files (with sizes and timestamps)
-x     extract the files from the installation (to the current directory, also
 see -d)
  -e     extract files without paths
  -t     test files for integrity
Options:
-b     batch (non-interactive) mode - will not prompt for password or disk cha
nges
-q     do not indicate progress while extracting
-m     extract internal embedded files (such as license and uninstall.exe)
-pPASS decrypt the installation with a password
-dDIR  extract the files into DIR (can be absolute or relative path)
-cDIR  specifies that DIR is the current directory in the installation
-n     don't attempt to unpack new versions
-fFILE same as -p but reads the password from FILE
-a     extract all copies of duplicate files
-y     assume Yes on all queries (e.g. overwrite files)

Also, when unchecked "run silently", still go the same error "unable to open file install_script.iss".

Hello folks,

SCRIPT VERSION FOR TESTING ONLY: [REMOVED]

@oliverjia: I have changed the script a bit just for testing. Please, download it and do another test. Use the "Extract" button in the script interface, but with the option "Run silently" unchecked. You will see a Windows Command Line Interpreter (cmd.exe - in System32 folder) window with some messages, please, post back here the results.

Best regards,

Aeolis

Thanks Aeolis,
I tried your new script on a third computer (laptop computer). The backupper.exe was placed in the work folder before I ran the script. Please see the message in cmd windows below. Strange, I don't have G drive on my computer. Is it a virtual drive that is used for extraction?  It appears to me the file name of the installer is not correct: Backupper_2.0.0.0.exe. It should be just Backupper.exe.

Can not open or read the specified file: "G:\Arquivos Auxiliares\Manutençao e Di
agnóstico\AOMEI Backupper\Backupper_2.0.0.0.exe" : The system cannot find the pa
th specified

C:\Winbuilder>

I stopped cmd, run script again with "run silently" checked. Afterwards I navigate to the work folder, there is only an empty folder named backupper, but there is no files in there except upx_log.txt.

And the message from UPX_log.txt:

Hello folks,

@oliverjia: You have just found the exact problem! That path in the "Source file" text box is the path to the installer in my PC you must change it to point to the path of the installer file in your PC. Look at the picture below for further instructions:

ila_rendered

After you change the path to the installer path in your machine everything will be fine again. Now you can delete that testing AOMEI script. You can use the original one.

Best regards,

Aeolis

Dear Aeolis,

I feel so embarrassed  :embarrassed: :embarrassed: :embarrassed: - now I remember I did change the path to the installer in MY computer before when I used your script v9 version. With the new version v10/11, somehow I thought if I put the installer in AB work folder the script will find it by default, so I did not pay attention to the default directory (I assumed its work folder). maybe I was just following the way to use Acronis plug in?

Anyway, just tested v11 and it worked.
Thanks a lot for your patience.

Dear Aeolis,

Tested v11 on a Win8.1SE x64 tonight. It appears somehow the program reported expiration. As indicated by the expiration notice, the program can only backup, but could not restore.

I downloaded the 17MB installer for extraction.

Hello folks,

@oliverjia: First, you don't need to attach the contents of "UPX_log.txt" file here anymore, so, please, don't do that to avoid long posts.

Second in the AOMEI script, as well as in all my scripts, there is a link where user can download the installer of the program. You should click in the link and download the FREE version which has no problems of expiration or trial time.

Third, and that is a problem, what are you exactly trying to do using the Win8.1SE Project? Due to the true nature of a PE environment you should never have problems with expiration trial time warning or related warnings. So, after viewing your pictures with trial expiration messages etc, I've concluded that you are trying to run a AOMEI Backupper version which is not the FREE one and trying to run it in a real Windows machine. Is it right?

Best regards,

Aeolis

Thanks Aeolis.
I did download the free installer from the link in your script: http://www.aomeisoftware.com/download/adb/Backupper.exe

No I wasn't using AB in real Windows 8.1. I build Win8.1SE x64 using Winbuilder and your plugin. I did not actually install AB.exe in my real Windows machine. Did you notice in the screenshot I took, it said "AOMEI backupper standard", which is supposed to be the free version? That's why it's really strange.

Anyone else, did you encounter such problems? If you did or did not, please report here.
For now, I go back to the ISO I built without AOMEI Backupper.

Hello folks,

@katschube: Thank you for reporting it. But in order to fix anything I need more data. Please, provide me the PE project you are building, the PE architecture (x86 or x64) and, if possble, the log file of the PE build.

Best regards,

Aeolis

Hello Aeolis,

I building the PE project Win8.1SE from 2014-03-11 with PE architecture x64.
Here my log file... in this log file i uses Aomei Backupper in Version 1.6. This works fine.
But the Aomei Backupper in Version 2.0.0.0. has still the "Trial expiration notice" bug with Script Version 12.
I hope my data are correct...

Thanks.

Best regards,
katschube

Hello folks,

@SIW2: Thank you for your suggestion, but I could not find this "amcore.dll" file inside AOMEI Backupper setup file. I have looked inside the standard and the professional setup files without success.

Needed if you have the paid product.

I do it like this:

IF NOT EXIST "mount\Program Files\AOMEI\Amcore.dll" IF EXIST "%ABUPATH%\Amcore.dll" copy /y "%ABUPATH%\Amcore.dll" "mount\Program Files\AOMEI" >nul

Hello folks,

@SIW2: Thank you again for the information. But katschube and oliverjia are talking about the standard (freeware version) of AOMEI Backupper which does not require activation or registration as far as I know. So the "bug" of trial expiration is not supposed to happen.

I could not reproduce the "bug" again after I have fixed it in the script version 12. Well, at least on my Win8.1SE x86 builds. As katschube reported the problem in a x64 build I will test it again in my x64 build just to be sure.

Best regards,

Aeolis

I don't know why they are getting it with the free version.

Just had a look at the script. Lot of registry entries.

Works fine for me with just this:

Aomei backupper, new version 2.0.1, 20140620:

Quote
•Email notifications *.
•View backup logs.
•Back up or restore files from a network to another.
•Edit task name and change the saved directory of backup images.
•Export/Import all backup tasks in an XML file.
•NAS and network backup bugs fixed.
•GPT/UEFI system backup enhancement.

* Only paid edition supports using your own SMTP server to send email notifications.

I can't test it on GPT/UEFI right now, but I wonder what those enhancements are!! I know OliverJia had some trouble with this, so I hope things have improved in that respect.
Maybe someone else can test this as well?

EDIT: Just did a quick-and-dirty test (extracted the backupper.exe with InnoUnpack, then ran the backupper in my existing Win8PESE [old drivers]), it worked as before, only need an extra "\lang" folder, with "en.txt".
One thing I noticed: when I launched it from the commandline (from the Aomei folder) everything was OK, but if I launched in some other manner (not from its own path) I also got the "not licensed" warning, so it must have something to do with path settings I guess?!

Still wondering what the GPT/UEFI enhancements are!!
