Hi alex67000,

Easy and Common method:
Gena\Components\Core\1 System\Network-->PeNetwork

follow arrow on attached picture, click "Explore" button

put your nt5x (XP/2003) network (lan) driver files in this folder. (you can also add a set of lan drivers of different computers to this folder)
...

yes,
click explore button
extract "DP_LAN_wnt5_x86-32_1009.7z" content to this folder
it %95 would work.

Hi alexalex67000,

go to your laptop website or find your laptop cd, there **must be xp-lan drivers somewhere......

put (extract) all your xp-lan driver file(s) of your all laptops to "the folder" pointed at picture where "explore" clicked.

after that, make your Gena build again, and try Gena on these laptops.

so far, lan drivers %100 work for all, as long as correct driver files provided.

Hi alex67000,

maybe you are using wlan, or an internet connection through usb, or maybe dialup-modem, instead of lan......
if not,
for another test routine, find fbwf.sys and fbwflib.dll on internet ( v6.1.7600.16385 is highly adviced, v2.0.965.0 would also work)
see you than...

Hi Lancelot, i use a wlan connection
Good,
we now solve the reason of mismatching posts.

Well, I do not know wlan, I guess penetwork need to get updated to work more automatically with wlan, but Penetwork author is not around for a long while now.....

Good news is, so far I heard everyone manage to get wlan work on Gena in one way or another.. Some with Penetwork, some with direct approach, need some push.
For direct approach, a good trial would be using
Gena\Components\Core\1 System\Network--> ' Networking Support ' on your build, which would give you a network with confort of normal windows, where you need to get settings in a manual way which I currently do not know.

Do not forget to get a writable systemdrive, via createiso-fbwf or using one of imageboots, this will help adding drivers on Gena after boot.

Also Driver Import PE at hand
"Gena\Drivers\6 Other-->Driver Import PE"
may help to ease driver adding tasks too, besides also use manual driver adding methods too....

And I strickly advice you to use XPSP3x86 source.

These are all weapons I know that Gena provide you, So far these bullets, reported always get death wlan alive :) , Further Good Luck.  :transformer:

Hi alex67000,

I forgot to mention,

IF you continue using XPSP2 source on your trials,
Gena\Components\Core\1 System\Network --> PENetwork
There is "Location of your localized (or ENU) WindowsXP-KB918997-v6-x86-XXX.exe" button
click the button
and put
WindowsXP-KB918997-v6-x86-ENU.exe
inside the opened folder.

IF you use XPSP3 source, no need above, XPSP3 already have wlan support files inside ;).

XPSP3 source so far reported better for other cases too

These are all I know ;)
Good luck.

Hi there,

(sorry for bad my english)

i have a question about driver integration.
When I use XPsp2 i had to update wth the kb Update, when I use XPSp3 as source I dont?t need this. I understood this.

But where can I intigrate the driversfor wlan/lan, I used the DPs (WLAN) in "Drivers/Network/DPs for LAN+WLAN" in the newest Build with Win7-32bit.
I get every run a error, which says that DPs or Base.exe is not there... But I copied all necessary files in one folder and choosed as source...
Pls, can you advice...

Other Question, is it better to choose to integrate all drivers with "Driver Import PE" oder perhaps with
each script like PENetwork / DPsMassStorage... ?!
(i looking here on the space of the final disk)
And can you please advice how i can do it correctly in each script with all driver DPs from driverpacks.net ?!

Thx for this in advice...
Greetings
Nordi

Sounds to me like you AntiVirus software is deleting the program. DP Base is coded in AutoIt, and some AntiVirus detect AutoIt programs incorrectly as viruses.

So disable your AntiVirus during a build, or an an exception to the path you're running from.

It's really up to you. Using the DP script means that the PE is built with the drivers included.

Using DIPE on a DP .7z file means you require space at %temp% and writable %SystemDrive% (which you need anyway for WLAN to work).

Regards,
Galapo.

sorry but I`m using no antivirus software (Imaging System every week with Acronis)

"I get every run a error, which says that DPs or Base.exe is not there... "
It`s something with the folder / file structure I think.
When I copy the Base.exe and the LAN/WLAN Dps in the special folder under Workbench\Common\Dps\LAN or WLAN, there the error comes... (Or when I press the Rebuild-Button the Error comes too)

Some questions too:

"Using DIPE on a DP .7z file means you require space at %temp% and writable %SystemDrive% (which you need anyway for WLAN to work)."    Means this while building or that I need a writeable Systemdrive when I boot the created CD ? (normally I have C:\
on every PC I had to start here with the cd...)   Or is this the Ramdisk script ?!

What`s the different to "Driver Import" and "Driver Import AE", where I can choose one (!?) DP at startup ?!
And where I should copy the drivers here, so that the scipt takes them inside the building... ?

And one general question too:    Why not building an image with an n-lited CD ?!  (it stands e.g. in the
"DPs Mass Storage Drivers" script)     I haven`t yet any errors to build the iso with this CDs.

Hi nordi,

I retested the DP LAN script copying the file 'DPs_BASE_1006.exe' to the path '\Workbench\Common\DPs\LAN'. It worked for me. I can't reproduce your issue. You'll have to give more details to reproduce (maybe give a look at your log), or identify what it is with your system or build that's stopping the file being found.

I assume you're not copying a file named exactly 'BASE.exe', but rather 'DPs_BASE_blabla.exe'?

"Using DIPE on a DP .7z file means you require space at %temp% and writable %SystemDrive% (which you need anyway for WLAN to work)."    Means this while building or that I need a writeable Systemdrive when I boot the created CD ?

I mean when the PE is booted you will need a writable %SystemDrive% in the PE.

What`s the different to "Driver Import" and "Driver Import AE", where I can choose one (!?) DP at startup ?!

The second one allows for automatic driver installation at boot.

And where I should copy the drivers here, so that the scipt takes them inside the building... ?

See here:

And one general question too:    Why not building an image with an n-lited CD ?!  (it stands e.g. in the
"DPs Mass Storage Drivers" script)     I haven't yet any errors to build the iso with this CDs.

Because nLite removes stuff and hence the CD image is modified causing unpredictable results. This is not recommended. An nLited source may or may not work on a case-by-case basic.

Regards,
Galapo.
