Thanks yet again ChrisR, you always amaze me with new stuff. We are very humbled by The Master...

To you and others: Any recommendations on which might be better, DiskDirector or Aomei? Of course, thanks to "our" SE projects, we have the luxury of adding them *all*, but I was wondering which are the fundamental differences? What can one do, that the other can't?
(OK, there's one I can answer already: one can't be "free", the other can...)

Really appreciated once again ChrisR, you're really spoiling us, I hope your new boss will appreciate you as well (and pay you accordingly). Best of luck!!

I am unable to make a comparison, there are a lot of partition software with fairly similar features. For my part I use them only occasionally.
Some PC tech would be more able to share the benefits or what is not working optimally for this or that software or missing features.
In a recent use, I noted that Acronis DiskDirector 12 has not able to offer me all the free space when splitting a partition, Aomei PA did it carefree.

I hope your new boss will appreciate you as well (and pay you accordingly). Best of luck!!
Thanks, I hope so but I remain careful because two independents guys have failed before me on this same mission but I like challenges.
The interviews went well and I do not have to complain about the pay knowing that France is in quite deep crisis currently.
Let see

Hi ChrisR,
AOMEI Partition Assistant (PA) Standard Edition
Just downloaded your great script. There are 2 files with the name bcdboot,1.exe & bcdboot,2.exe
in the target directory. I think the name is suppose to be bcdboot.exe? I tried to delete one and
rename the other but no luck.                [codebox]
If,ExistFile,%Target_Prog%\%ProgramFolder%\bcdboot,2.exe,FileDelete,%Target_Prog%\%ProgramFolder%\bcdboot,2.exe
If,ExistFile,%Target_Prog%\%ProgramFolder%\bcdboot,1.exe,FileRename,%Target_Prog%\%ProgramFolder%\bcdboot.exe

Mark, the ",1" and ",2" files are from the setup file. Normally, they are renamed to the "normal" filename, based on system architecture. In this case it means: the ",1" file is renamed "bcdboot.exe" for 32bit, the other (",2") is renamed to bcdboot.exe for 64bit.
I'm not sure what you're trying to do, maybe the file is not even needed, but maybe you deleted the wrong file?
(Sorry, not much time atm).

bcdboot,1.exe or bcdboot,2.exe have the same md5. In previous version 5.5.1 there was only bcdboot.exe.
but do it as Atari said, by using If,%SourceArch%,Equal,x64,.....

WinSxS\*_microsoft.vc80.crt* and WinSxS\*_microsoft.vc90.crt* are copied in 1-Copy files plugins in Win8.1SE and with the registry.
but it is maybe well to keep VC8Litex86.7z in this plugin for other projects.
Not much time either

I have been looking a AOMEI Backupper and remembered that we used the x64 folder for the x64 build.
AOMEI Partition Assistant Standard has the same thing and I updated the script to us the x64 build folder.
Code: [Select]
If,%SourceArch%,Equal,x64,FileRename,%t%\x64,%t%\%ProgramFolderS%
If,%SourceArch%,Equal,x64,DirCopy,%t%\%ProgramFolderS%,%Target_Prog%\%ProgramFolderR%
I don't know if it does work any better but it is the same Arch.  Oh and mine has sub folders.

Added this code to script so we can use the 64 bit program that is included with the program.
Code: [Select]
//--
If,%SourceArch%,Equal,x64,FileRename,%ProjectTemp%\TempExtractFolder\%ProgramFolder%\%ProgramFolder%\x64,%ProjectTemp%\TempExtractFolder\%ProgramFolder%\%ProgramFolder%\%ProgramFolder%
If,%SourceArch%,Equal,x64,DirCopy,%ProjectTemp%\TempExtractFolder\%ProgramFolder%\%ProgramFolder%\%ProgramFolder%,%Target_Prog%\%ProgramFolder%
//--

Lancelot:
Attachment plugin only adds above codes to Line 111 112 of Chris Plugin v2, See next reply for further explanations.

Hi Mark,

I now see easly what you do,
but, from what I read on plugin,
Chris designed plugin to use only x86 executables etc.,
    x64 files intentionally not copied,
      see plugin note
Code: [Select]
// the x64 folder is not used

you are reverting what Chris did at line 93, with your line 111 112 !!!!!!

Anyway, I don't know why Chris did this
(I mean why he designed plugin for x86 only,
maybe he don't have time to test further since all TheOven projects have x86 support by JFX, it is not critical)
,
but with your changes I feel it only waste space on PE,
maybe you like to work on supporting both x86-x64 files, but you need to work more...

:turtle:

edit: no need to quote all post

and as KYHI pointed at reply 91
http://theoven.org/index.php?topic=1049.msg14379#msg14379

better you attach your plugins as Test,

Title=AOMEI Partition Assistant Standard Test
AOMEI_Partition_Assistant_Standard_Test.script

or maybe Mark

Title=AOMEI Partition Assistant Standard Mark
AOMEI_Partition_Assistant_Standard_Mark.script

or whatever...

As KYHI wrote,
you increase current plugin version by making some undesigned changes,
giving wrong impression to end user (high version better)

I also had done same on other topic by adding G when I first attach my modifications to Chris topic,
AOMEI_Backupper_Standard_G

Well everybody free to do what one want,
it is all about behaving nice in community,
TheOven foundations based on this nice behaviors and give credits to that top most,
that is one of the reason current forum different than most others.

The ONLY reason for even having x64 version of winpe is to boot UEFI based PC's

32Bit programs are usually smaller in overall package size and do the same job as x64 programs..

the x64 OS supports x86 (32bit) programs

That I am aware of - only 1 CPU supports 32bit UEFI - the ATOM processer

And the problem with Aomei is that the free version does not fully support x64 UEFI-GPT partitions..

I can see the point of everyone here.  My only intentions are to try and follow the manufacturer PE.

Hi Mark,

You "intentions" is what you "do", not what you "write" or "look like" ...

I advice you, you must read what is written to you carefully, if you want to be around...
maybe better re read multiple times.
All explanations already written to you by replying your posts on current other topics,
by me (Lancelot) and even by KYHI ...

You are mixing TheOven with General Public forums,
where administrators only count total member # and post # and click # ,
whoever increase post # and member # and click # is good,
   Since all serves Advertisement, etc......

TheOven is a development forum,
similar like all other Application Development forums,
where one need to follow things much more properly,
since there is no Advertisement, we do not care post # and member # and click #  ....
We are highly experienced enough about what is written and intention, behavior of a user on a forum, etc.

I hope you take the advice and read, well your decision,
What I love most about internet you are free to do what you want  ,
There is always a place for that
Next time, I will not "re explain" things to you, take it as a open to public "last of last warning".

Hi Mark,

Monitoring your activities after above post,
You are banned for 20 days  :great: :great:
  You violate Forum Rules http://TheOven.org/index.php?action=rules
We do not have time or will to deal with this kind of behavior.

After 20 days, you will be permanently banned,
I only tolerate you to check things last time after 20 days.

Maybe you can't even read and understand current post,
There are other PE/Win projects all over internet, one would fit you  :great:
   ex: http:// www. livesystem-pro.de/

btw, thanks, you teach me not to tolerate this behavior to this limit,
next time I will react faster :great:

the current script looks to download PA - want to include exe into script
I assume can use current - install_script_5.6.3.iss BUT
need to edit [INI] section to \cfg.ini to also include the free giveaway key

I was able to work around the current script - by renaming and using the (provide file) PAssist_Pro.exe to PAssist_Std.exe, and then just copying the cfg.ini into the target folder..
