I've encountered a minor bug and was wondering whether there might be a solution.

I'm finding that after I've selected the Windows installation, the ERD Registry Editor doesn't load the hives until after I have opened LockSmith.

That is, if I open ERD first, all I see are the hives but I can't drilldown like normal (i.e. the folders are listed but there is no "+" button beside any folder). However after opening LockSmith then all is good.

Not a big deal and not worth spending a lot of time trying to fix, but would be nice to fix if there are some easy things to try.

This is a known issue mate.



Possible solution :

Win7PESE uses "ERD Logon" to set the target OS and that is where the issue is. Instead of launching individual DaRT components via start menu, first launch the "Windows Recovery Environment" and let it attach to the host OS properly.



Then launch DaRT via " Recovery Environment" shortcut.




Probably all DaRT tools will work properly then (don't use direct start menu shortcuts ).
