Required to Log in to Browse Forum?

There has been a spike in interest in PE it is not just at this site...

But it does seem as if there are multiple users from the same connection on at once.. 

Our Chinese friends are making a big splash...

I've never encountered such large numbers. I guess in my timezone I'm sleeping while all these people are awake.

I'll increase the limit further. Hopefully this isn't an issue for my host.

Just a question: you can still use the forum, you just need to log in, right?

This is because they use VPN connections. This is called the shared IPs model mostly used by VPNs providers
Same IP range is attributed to different connections on same servers at the same time
If one ip is blocked, all users using this ip range will be also blocked.

They are cloning the whole forum... Into / onto (for use as) another Forum
It is happening with TenForums.com

I just notice another "clone" from cwcodes.net
(I was looking for something else... )

It seems there are some "stupid people" sitting out there,
 waiting forum and projects to be inactive
  so they can continue with what they cloned with.

The same thing made before by Shitland developers, all cloned projects died along with builder.

ps: I do not know who is doing exactly what at tenforum

I feel someone made a setting to redownload again after ~ 30 days !

I had a check into the server logs.

Some interesting stats:

• For each month this year we've had between 1.5 - 2 million hits to theoven.org
• For each month we've had around 30,000 unique visitors to theoven.org
• For each month there's between 13 - 20 GB of bandwidth used on theoven.org
• On 22 Nov one user leeched 1.49 GB of data from theoven.org (I've banned this IP address)
• The bingbot keeps leeching 1GB of data at a time. I've altered the robots.txt to slow it down, otherwise I might ban it
• The Win10SE is very popular, with generally 6TB of bandwidth used a month.

Its good to know extended support is being used    ChrisR and all involved did an amazing job creating the project. Out of sheer respect and awe  I will continue to apply any free time I have to keep the product up to date and working in his SE absence...

I'm sick of them and have blocked these two addresses also now. Just far too many connections coming in from them. I take them to be bots.
