Little boo-boo at line 80. "RunFrom,Ram" should be "RunFromRam,True".

I like the boo-boo, here it is voluntary http://theoven.org/index.php?topic=452.0
RunFromRam, RunFromCD remains available for backwards compatibility.
But it is better to use the new syntax for new scripts

Hum. Then why, when I force all programs into RAM (in CDDrive - X: - Y:), does Eset wind up on CD drive E all by itself (instead of drive X with everything else) with no shortcuts pointing to it?

Indeed, it is not normal,  I do not often test with "Force all programs into RAM"
So there is indeed a boo-boo, I have to put some tape, is it working with the old syntax ?
I will look in the coming days.

A small adjustment was added to Macro_Library  (on server) for RunFrom macro and "Run all programs from RAM".

ps: The Eset starter does not serve much with "Force all programs into RAM" (design), you can disable the checkbox.

Hi ChrisR

Please clarify one thing. I don't understand the use of tick box "Remove virusdef after closing and backup".  I use USB flash drive so i want to keep the virus definitions to save time. May i need to select or deselect this option ?.

Hi anshad,

In summary, the operation.

Start Eset Online scanner
If old virus definition exist in source folder (USB), it Copy them in x:\Program files\ESET\ESET Online scanner (in Ram)
Accept the term of use
Downloading components. No choice of the folder (%Programfiles%\ESET\ESET Online scanner), it can not be the USB directly.
Start
Download virus signature database in Ram, ~75 Mb currently.
Scan in progress...

When you exit the application
If media Writable:
Backup "ESET Online scanner" folder with virus def stored for a future use.
If "Remove VirusDef after closing and backup" selected
It asks for confirmation for x seconds (setting) to remove the copy in RAM (~ 90 Mb with components and virus def).
It allows to save space in RAM, following FBWF Cache Size to run other applications.

Is that answer?

Hi

I thought "ESET online Scanner" will work directly from the USB media and that was what confused me. Now i know how it works. Thanks for clarifying .

Unfortunately, "ESET online scanner" script is not working for me in my "Win8PE_SE x64" build. When i double click the "ESET Smartinstaller" icon on desktop, i always getting an error message about missing "esetsmartinstaller.exe" . If i open "X:\Program files (x86)\ ESET\ESET online scanner" folder, i can see "esetsmartinstaller.exe" there but somehow the launcher can't find it .

Undoubtedly related to "Program Files (x86)", I'll look to fix it.

Hi anshad,

I just tested Eset Online scanner with the launcher in Win8pese x64 and it worked without any problems, I do not see what's wrong
Can you ever try esetsmartinstaller.exe directly without ESETsmartinstallerStarter.exe in a first step.

Hi

"esetsmartinstaller" without the launcher works fine but as you already know, it won't save the virus definitions. I will test the script in an untouched vanilla download to make sure none of my tweaks or app scripts are messing with it.

Btw, there is no loading progress can be seen when booting in UEFI/Secureboot mode.  If i manually set legacy boot policy for efi\microsoft\Boot\bcd store,  i can see the good old progress bar. I would like to see this to be done at build time (if the source is an x64) rather than doing it manually.

This is how i set it - bcdedit.exe /store Y:\efi\microsoft\Boot\bcd /set {default} bootmenupolicy legacy

Yes, as for the legacy boot, thanks

I added it, yy_1-postconfig.script is on the server.

Hi ChrisR

I found the reason why the script failed for me. Imdisk RAMDisk script was  disabled in my script. Once i enabled it, the launcher no more complains about missing "esetsmartinstaller.exe". I repeated the test with an untouched Win8PE_SE_2013-10-02 and the result was same. I never know that disabling "Imdisk" can create such issues .

Hi anshad,

Well that you found
Like that, I do not understand either
May be related to BroadcastEnvChange launched at startup, if imdisk is selected (used to set the new %temp%:  B:\Temp).
I will not look now, but I keep it for later, if I do not forget
