Hi Prz42

Thanks for the AUR 11.5 plugin, giving it a whirl now, (actually waiting for the msi to finish d/l)
great to see builder compatibility  :thumbsup:
will let you know how it works for me shortly
regards APT

Edit:
works fine, used ultra compression on zips :thumbsup: with latest d/l shows as version 11.5 update 6

Hi Prz42

Works very good, I just add to server with cosmetic fix.

Call,DownloadX,"%BaseDir%\Projects\Yomi\AppY\HD Tasks\Imaging\Acronis_Universal_Restore.Script"

http://theoven.org/index.php?topic=2672.0

*
something about using Interface with picture:
we can not add .png to interface,
.bmp is too big
best options are .gif and .jpg

.gif (Interlaced) is good for application pictures and have good small size.
.jpg -> change your jpg save settings to %100 (default %90 %80)

.jpg saving other than %100 cause unwanted dots etc. on application pictures
.gif (Interlaced) smaller compared to .jpg %100

Summary:
First try .gif (Interlaced), If it does not fit use .jpg %100

Here are some test picture:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/i6g8r8fmfph6c3u/20190103_ScreenShot_Test2.7z?dl=0

zoom UniversalRestore_S_80_percent.jpg to text
eg. Cannot find and operating system .....

UniversalRestore_S_80_percent.jpg ---> dots around text -> bad
UniversalRestore_S_100_percent.jpg --> ok 191 KB
UniversalRestore_S_Interlaced_Gif.gif --> ok 54 KB

You're Welcome @Lancelot!

The plugin executed successfully and as long as the program is open everything is fine (functions, operations)
However, as soon as i exit the program, my winpe reboot without any message or warning!

This is the case for all winpe projects since long time
Some have even dropped it because of this issue.
i've tried some tricks but it didn't work.

Forgot to mention that Acronis Universal Restore is now (since quite some time) part of Acronis Backup Advanced.
i've already tried this one too but i don't remember why i didn't added it to my project!!!  :lol:
i'll try soon and see again.... :tongue:

Hi RXTech,

I remember this situation elsewhere....

can you test this:
before starting "Acronis Universal Restore"
on registry delete (first backup a reg to desktop)
System\CurrentControlSet\Control\MiniNT
after "Acronis Universal Restore"
close "Acronis Universal Restore" , auto restart ?

if no auto restart, do not forget to double click your backup reg.

@Lancelot
for me, using VM+1809
it still auto restarts after prog exit,

but there is a difference

without the reg edit, I get an instant restart on prog exit, with reg edit, it exits cleanly to desktop, but autorestarts about 5 secs later (consistant behaviour)

Without editing the registry, AUR exits properly to desktop on my side too, and the system reboots after few secs.

if i remember well, it's the same issue with Acronis Backup & Restore 12 (includes AUR as i mentioned previously)

Hi RXTech, APT

Can you also test with rdc with enabled patch option
(Download latest rdc in which patch default now)

To Add..  RDC Patch is applied ONLY If "Login As Admin" Selected

Same in SE James

Is there a popup window during exit?

Not for me

haven't tried above with regedits - trying now just in case
edit above and miniNT key deleted, restart on app exit occurs

No APT, In the case where there was no way to prevent it..if there was an exit popup, it would be much easier to patch the restart function out of it using a debugger like x64dbg

You can also look for

Code: [Select]
xor ax, ax
mov ds, ax
dec ax
push ax
inc ax
push ax
mov word ptr ds:[472h],0
retf

or

Code: [Select]
mov ds, ax
mov ax,0000
mov [0472], ax
jmp FFFF:0000

Which are restart commands..

I thought you were talking to me about trying with the regedits, to produce a popup...

It was my mistake...  That is why i said no..

There are also other possibilities for the restart command but it is just as likely it is one of the ones listed above.  There are only a few other ways.  Rebooting a machine can be problematic so compilers tend to use proven methods.

For a messy patch just overwrite the first two lines of the restart command (when you find it) with the below code and leave the rest alone..

Code: [Select]
MOV AH, 0
INT 21H

That will exit the program abruptly.

Use this: https://x64dbg.com/#start

If you do this you will have to make the builder apply the patch during build using binmay or something similar.(Most likely not a distributable fix otherwise)  But you can test it and get the address needed with x64dbg.

It's acting like you pressed the "Reboot" button!

i can understand it's acting like this when it's the sole program in its dedicated Universal Restore bootable ISO
But why this program makes the whole WinPe reboot too is a mistery!

Someone asked Sergei Strelec about it : No response so far.
Note that Sergei ceased adding AUR to his projects since it was implemenred into Acronis business products like Acronis Backup and Restore, but even so, it keep rebooting the whole system!

Hey, Thanks for this script @Prz42!

I would like to report some issues, 'Will someone please confirm'?.

With Acronis UniversalRestore 11.5 Enabled (ACURestore):
.cmd Path== X:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Microsoft\WindowsApps;

Without Acronis ACURestore:
.cmd Path== X:\windows\system32;x:\windows;x:\windows\system32\wbem;x:\windows\system32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\;
                    X:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Microsoft\WindowsApps;

I Removed this line in ACURestore
// Call,RegMultiSZ,Append,"Tmp_System\ControlSet001\Control\Session Manager\Environment",Path,%ProgramPath%

Now all is well..
"It still does not help the reboot situation".

P.S.
I have baked a couple of plugins I would like to share.
How do I go about doing that.???
DiskGenius 5.0.1.609.script
IsobusterPr0_v4.1.script
Zadig.script  x64/x64

Regards
RoyM
