with this method you need to add it manualy in "G:\Win10XPE\Target\Programmes" then "create boot.wim and ISO" as oscar said ...

Nothing to do, it seemed ok because it created a big Iso file (wimboot.....), but when booted inside ventoy it stops loading saying it encounters an I/O issue due to an external USB device disconnected...or something similar
I'm sure that's the right way, but I don't understand what's my error during options charging flow...
BTW, original "default" ISO runs flawlessly inside ventoy.......

Hi

success with Ventoy can be very variable
a lot also has to do with the Size, speed and memory requirements....

Ventoy has always been very affordable and reliable here, and the error message seems related to something different from a memory or hw requirements; finally, ISO size is less than 4 Gb, not a big amount if compared to other similar tools.

Anyway, I still don't know exactly what is, step by step, the procedure, starting from ZERO, to obtain a bootable ISO with some portables included. Also, I repeat, the  "How To Quick Start Guide" should be updated

Thanks you all for the support

1. already done.. and it works
So I would assume the "Quick Start Guide" was helpful in this regard..

but DEFAULTS are not my target
For a comprehensive manual - there are thousands of posts regarding that.

Now if you are "Volunteering" to write a comprehensive manual.
Other Users would welcome this and may find it helpful..

Since "Defaults" are not your "Target"
The issue is not with what is already written or otherwise available to you
it is a matter of understanding how each and ever program interacts with the OS
and how to integrate your 'Non Defaults"

Regards,

Ok, let's name it "comprehensive", but please, we are speaking about a "default" + some portable apps.... does this need to read thousand of posts? And I also think no one will like to read a tutorial written by an incompetent, however "volunteer".

Thanks for the great help, I'll definitely give up, and I believe that no one will be sorry

Well OK, maybe not everyone is not using the Defaults - but we had to learn how by (reading & learning with a lot of trial & error) ourselves

OK, now let's assume your "Application w/supporting files" is in Folder-A
On "Build Core / Main Interface" click on "Open Custom Folder"
Now Drag "Folder-A" into the "Program Files" folder
Enable the "Add Your Custom Folder" checkbox
Hit the Blue "Play" Button to build your PE
Boot into your PE
Your application is now in X:\Program Files\Folder-A

Nothing that difficult about the process...

I fully agree with you mate, and already done, but the issue is it doesn't work when booting - don't know if due to
-My config
-too big ISO
-not reliable Ventoy app (similar problems where experienced by other users)
etc
etc
.........

Hi Jimehc,
In screenshot of your PE system I realise that you don't have that useless world icon (network I guess) on your right hand of your task bar. Just curious, how did you get rid of that icon?

If your ISO is 4G then it is to big - or your USB is to slow or you do not have enough memory..
Remember the is 4G compressed, it would then need to be expanded on the system..

That taskbar network icon comes when adding "Network Additions"

So, you are pointing out to me links that report issues about Ventoy that fails to properly boot Win10XPE in the newer releases of Ventoy
And that is a Win10XPE problem ???

The answer is - try an older version of Ventoy

It seems that many persons here are...what can I say in english " coda di paglia"...wracked with guilt?...Paranoid?

I would like to show you that, depending on point of view and personal requirements, both apps are well working or not, and in both cases, again, both can have many reasons about their default....
Does this remind you something? Maybe a company named M****soft?

Thanks for the help mate, but by now I am convinced that the error occurs inside the Ventoy environment, and that until today, no one has ventured into a production of WIN10XPE with integrated portable apps and relative boot, and if anyone did it got quite a failure

By Default Win10XPE does not use Ventoy.. Thus again as I stated earlier - it was a new user customization issue...

Hi Win-G-man

Fortunately, we don't get that many newbies with an attitude problem towards other members, who are
simply trying to put their own time and effort into helping you.
