Some old ones are very hard to follow....
And If I may say so, write a lot of un-needed code taken from Host OS for options not available or usable in PE..

Thus I re-create for personal use and testing... Well the one's I find "User friendly" useful that is..
And I try not to use %??% variables - so to make it easy to follow

But, That's Me..

overall, I understand you.....
 I re wrote many complicated plugins in the past to get them maintainable,
  still it is hard to catch when someone rewrites same plugin which naturally becomes complicated with author's way...
    In the end, at a summer time, with wide time, I re write again.  :wink:

One way or another, it is good to have working plugins around  :xmas-thumbsup:,
 even not ready ones to put to server,
 when time found it is easy to update working plugins.  :great: (ex: recently like Chrome by 2aCD)

%% is the last thing before plugin ready. :xmas-rolleyes:

At least, now you have see the picture I see... :xmas-cool:

Yes topic is hard to follow, at least so far I guess I could catch all and put the ones to Yomi  :wink:

Life Goes

Mozilla Light script x64 | x86 - ready for first impressions

ila_rendered

The script: Size 86.8 MB, 95 languages, explorer-shell-integration, partial html5-capable. One test-site: http://html5test.com/index.html
Mozilla Light: 346 points;
Chome 44: 526 points;
Opera 31: 525 points.

ila_rendered  ila_rendered

My tests on Win10PE_64-bit:
Plays mpeg-3 and mpeg-4(no mp4 audio). Haven't found a possibility to set Light as default browser in Win10PE. Maybe customizable with additional codecs. Flash no problem.
Startmenu contains a folder with your personal addons, plugins:

ila_rendered  ila_rendered

****Ex: HowTo prepare Light64.7z by yourself****

For Win10PE 64-bit:
Download light-43.0.en-US.win64.installer.exe;
boot a Win10PE;
install Mozilla Light to X:\Program Files\Mozilla Light
optional: download + install language-pack('s) of your choice;
optional: download + install locale_switcher-3-fx.xpi
{if you don't use locale-switcher-addon ^^, then open new tab with about:config;
scroll down to general.useragent.locale and change value to your language-locale, some examples:
en-US = English (Unites States)
en-GB = English (United Kingdom)
de      = German
kr       = Korean
zh-CN = Chinese
}
make any other personal settings in running Mozilla Light;
finally, compress the folder-content X:\Program Files\Mozilla Light\*.* --> Light64.7z
archive stucture:
Code: [Select]
<DIR>          browser
<DIR>          dictionaries
<DIR>          uninstall
application.ini
content-container.exe
dependentlibs.list
install.log
lgpllibs.dll
light.exe
mozglue.dll
msvcp140.dll
nss3.dll
omni.ja plugin-hang-ui.exe
precomplete
removed-files
sandboxbroker.dll
vcruntime140.dll
xul.dll

->attach your previously generated Light64.7z to Mozilla Light.script (Attachments/"Folder" - where Prefs.7z resides, too) with BuilderSE.

Similar procedure for Win10PE 32-bit --> Light.7z

Thanks to KYHI, Lancelot
Gerhard

Sorry, the attached Mozilla Light.script is only for demonstration / personal development. Reason: The necessary archive Light64.7z is, with 10 languages ~45 MB, and with 95 languages ~62 MB large. (Light.7z = 18-25 MB)

That is what I thought.... You are re-capturing Light with the Language Profile...

The missing link for me was >>  locale_switcher-3-fx.xpi

After working on and posting my firefox plugin - I received this message from Oscar..
So I took it as a Hint to Go Smaller..

Just to inform that there exists a light Firefox (50MB instead of 100MB)  :great: and I have found no drawbacks.
To make it portable rename the custom_t.ini file to custom.ini

http://sourceforge.net/projects/lightfirefox/

7 days ago this was just an idea..
Gerhard, you are very persistent, but also very hard to follow..
I had the language Profile concept understood, but it would of been to hard for user to switch languages via the interface...
I wanted the user to be able to select the language via the plugin..

Until today... The locale_switcher-3-fx.xpi (Language button) was the missing link I needed..

So I thank You for your input and your willingness to share your findings..
You where a very BIG help in making this plugin language selectable...

PS: The locale_switcher-3-fx.xpi is an attachment file within the plugin, now..
Thank You
Kyhi

This new understanding can now also be applied to FireFox Plugin, using Mozilla xpi's

Hello KYHI,
ok, you chanceled your comment - I have answers / thoughts, yet.

Yes, I've given no link to 'locale_switcher-3-fx.xpi', because big brother delivers 252 search results. 1 further mouseclick and you have it.  :wink:
Yes, I sat on the method to capture "Light-composition", because a) these friends made Light complete portable for PE-system, and b) this browser is not the "best". There are better ones; the question is only(?), how much data storage space the "better" ones consume.

You pointed, that locale-switcher would not be necessary. I can't believe that, because if I installed no language-pack during my tests, the locale-switcher has had nothing to do.
But it costs me nothing, to see what would happen, if I switch manually language without locale-switcher and without any languagepack. Maybe, you're right at this point.

A Runtime-Error has always a reason. You showed this folder \Light\Light\Profiles\*******.default\ with olny 1 file in it: prefs.js
There should be about 26 files and 2 folders...
Code: [Select]
80 If,ExistDir,%Target_Prog%\%ProgramFolder%,Call,DirDelete,%Target_Prog%\%ProgramFolder%
81 If,EXISTDIR,%Target_Prog%\%ProgramFolder%,DirDelete,%Target_Prog%\%ProgramFolder%
I added second DirDelete, because sometimes, if I tested only this script without new complete building, WB can't DirDelete. I supposed, the macro Call,DirDelete is temporarely "unknown".

I admit, I checked not the dependencies. May I have no idea, because I drive always full throttle:
1-copy files -> full
DirectX 11
.NET Framework 2.0/3.0/3.5/4.5
Powershell
MS Visual C++ Runtime -> Full
...
The result ISO is ~1,6 GB
Additional to already mentioned earlier issue 'Out Of System Resources' - I fight with a "new" one: 'Out Of System Memory'; since Mozilla Light script reaches 60-65 MB.
Looked at taskmanager, only 2-3 GB were at this moment outsourced...  :confused: (I do now backup often...)

Maybe our Light script doesn't switch correctly at 32-bit source? ( <- I haven't; so can't check it )
Greetings

Pale Moon portable script

http://theoven.org/index.php?topic=1608.0

100 more "html5test-points" - the Sites, whitch are made for A*** FlashPlayer, are fewer and fewer...
My result ISO decreases from 1650 to 1150 MB - compared to Mozilla Lite

Create a folder .\Apps\Network\XPI-Palemoon and point to it with DirBox "Folder to include XPI extensions"
Select language and hit Launch to configure (if it's your desire - load/store other Mozilla-addons, logins, special website-settings) ...

ila_rendered

You may disable Flash_Add.script - PaleMoon is capable of presenting Flash & PDF without external programs.

Hi Gerhard S.

your edits on your reply28 for your PaleMoon plugin development will be quite less noticable to anyone.

We already have a Plugin section for that.
 Open a topic for your Pale Moon plugin
   http://theoven.org/index.php?board=31.0

so other can find your plugins more easily, and feedback comment when required...

I didn't know where else to post this, but for a while I lacked sound + videos only in certain situations:
In Audacity, the editor could not play WAV files  but  in Goldwave you could!
I could play YouTube videos with sound, but not in VLC (both Lancelet's portable version, and my older full version of 221).

I updated today audio8.script to v19 from v18     [I"m still using build 10240]  and NOW IT WORKS to play DVDs and ISO-from-DVD in VLC221 portable.  There was a discussion somewhere, perhaps on Yomi, about this also, that I can't find now, but. Plugin credit shows ChrisR adding this.  I'm pretty sure Lancelot and KYHI were involved.

I want to say Thank You to all those posters who made this work, as I have not been able to figure it out (missing wintypes.dll) and I was just checking out what system plugins I might still need to update today.  This made my day. :thumbsup:

There's nothing like watching a movie running on a "rescue stick"   :smile:
