Hello,

I get this error message when I boot on my key and it doesn't disappear. I have already looked at this solution but I cannot find the file in question.

Are you using the lasted XPE Project Release ???
As there are system files that cause that issue..
And there was an older version of SIB v2.8.9 that crashes the desktop with TaskbarJumpList enabled..

Hi Zatch,

Maybe you can try Start10 instead. I like it. It automatically replace SIB and works good.

disable all "Apps" including "Custom" Apps
Build and test without any Apps...

Also what OS Version & Arch ??
All in Ram or USB ??

Or any other information to help us duplicate your testing....

I have the same issue with StartIsBack using Win10 1909 pro x64 and just gave up and went with WinXShell and it booted fine. All files that are suggested to be removed were removed.

I have spent several Hours this Morning testing for this Error - I have found some issues - But can not reproduce this certain error...
I tested a Fresh Extraction of XPE 2019-12-18 to a New Directory and Selected Win10 1909 x64 as Source - I made No Other Changes or Selections..
The Results where...
If you answer Yes to Admin - Then Desktop Wallpaper disappears and Desktop Background is Black
If you Change Theme Color the Desktop Disappears behind Blank Green Screen - and the Desktop does Not return after the "Kill Explorer.exe" pecmd
Thus requiring a forced shutdown and reboot to continue to use WinPE

If you answer No to Admin - Then Desktop Wallpaper and Background are displayed correctly
If you Change Theme Color the Desktop Disappears behind that SIB Message - and the Desktop Returns Properly after the "Kill Explorer.exe" pecmd

I Tested with same results with Ram Build & USB Build... And with and without "Dark Theme" selected as default - so it does not appear to be Color Theme Related

I could not verify the constant stated SIB Message that is usually caused by Explorer

Maybe others will have better luck, reproducing and finding the cause...

Have you run CheckSysFiles and see what if any files are missing? Just did this myself and now it boots with StartIsBack perfectly fine.

"CheckSysFiles" is automatically run when Create ISO is selected...
So is "File Cleanup" to remove unwanted System Files...

If you do not want the creation of the actual ISO - then right below "Rufus Downloads" there is a small box the expand "Hidden Options"

Either way the Final Build should include "Create ISO"

True but in my situation it would not extract CheckSysFiles as it didn't know if it was x86 or x64. So it never ran until I changed it. Zatchbell68 may have the same issue as me with the extraction. Once I hardcoded the OS in the script CheckSysFiles now works and using StartIsBack is working fine where it would never load before.

But you just pulled the correct variable with cmd test and you also just confirmed the results in script.project....

With the default value of x86 - the checksystemfiles.exe that would have been extracted would of been x86 version and would of worked just fine on x64 Host OS...

CheckSysFiles - checks for & adds Missing MUI & MUN as required for System Files...

I agree 100% but and this is a big but even with it pulling the correct os in script.project the checksysfile.exe would not extract until I changed it up. You saw the image where it is being reported as x1 instead of x86/x64.
Not arguing with what you are saying as that is the way it should work, maybe just maybe he has the same issue as me.

Well I tried to compile my iso with another computer and everything works, so it's a problem with my other computer.
I compared all the boxes etc ... everything is identical.
It's incomprehensible
