I just saw the latest issue of the German c't Magazin (2 december, issue 2013-26, probably the best computer magazine in the world...), and saw that they have included a DVD with this issue (which I don't have, unfortunately).

But on the DVD, and in the magazine, they mention Win8PESE!!! Congratulations Chris! I haven't even read the articles, but I wanted to be the first to congratulate everybody...
Can somebody please check out the files on the DVD for me, and tell us if there are any extras in the c't project, or is it just the standard release? EDIT: Forgot to read the very last part: There will be a special (german) page for the c't project: I think it will be active tomorrow (releasedate of the magazine) at www.ct.de/1326174
Maybe there will be some new members here soon?

Thanks ChrisR, I already have the magazine in PDF, but not the DVD, if somebody could provide me with the .zip from the DVD, that would be nice!
Quite an honor to be in c't, I believe they used a different system for their "rescue CD's" in the last couple of years, good to see they're back to WinPESE!!

Thanks fuwi, I was just interested to see how c't packaged/ adapted it.
I've been reading c't for 25 years, I've spent a lot of money on them, so I hope they indulge me for once with this download. Still, you might consider removing it after a while, because (as is mentioned in the article) the authors do check in here from time to time. But again, I don't think they'll have a problem with it in this case.
Thanks again for the upload!

Quality , quantity

Well passed 3.5 years on theoven.org forum handling self proves we are not after quantity

SE well deserves its place on c't magazine,
which is natural result of its well known serious and successful developers.
(none of us contact c't for such thing  )

Being known not only attract some quantity, but also in time Quality, which would get projects get better  :great:
 Hence Party Time

haha,

lots of things to do , lots of things to ask for , few complaints
lazy people, happly few REAL Constructive posts, each is yet another drop to get things better (with lots of more drops waiting there in futrure...)

Still things goes nicely & slowly here, all started without any project, than first project (Gena) than 2 (Win7PESE) than 3 (Win8PESE) with later sub projects Yomi, Yomi-Gena and number will increase...

Aside core development, feature implements slowly continues with user feedbacks.

Sorry, we do not fool anyone playing games, since first day all started and continued slowly (with stability) and peacefully here, up to now, and continues. One must be blind or fooled in order not to see. (obviously "fool game players" aware this reality and try to increase any possible games more ;) )

When I see current projects I see lots of things to do and even ask for, but requires lots of time which I do not have these days.
If you have time but run out of new ideas on project features / developments, it is quite sad to see such oldie having such motivation.

To increase post # (fake posts), there is a "Internet Games - Section 7 Forums-  Post Games Chapter 5" ,  with some sub-sub-chapters
* a set of fake member ids for different personalities to stir / create pots of discussion
* create new fake member ids to ask fake questions / requests
* "write a lot but talk about nothing" kind of empty discussions.
* fool a young (rookie) teen to create something that results post of stirs which in the end gives nothing.
* discuss unrelated / untechnical subjects
* write a lot but produce nothing
* comment a lot on some technical stuff without any contribution only to stir pot and look smart.
.......
 long list,
check fake-professionals playing such games for years,
I was also fooled in very past, but also surprised to see many don't wake up even with a flash light inside opened eyes.

I hope you will figure out them in time,
like all serious developers in the world who are aware and run away from such things (obviously  ).
There are other Chapters, IF goal was creating such forum to earn some $ or fame with advertisements or with the goal of selling in future, there would be some decent Chapters operational, but as you might see they are not  We are Real people that run current things with TRUE HOBY, Result is what is expected   :1st:

I was expecting such a post on current topic as a result of being victim of " winbuilder sin " but only waiting "who" part

ps: "without winbuilder sin" , livesystempro goes its way with more post #  , well they simply copy things around here besides without winbuilder sin life is smoother for them.

Without playing such games, aside objected to many games (disinformations through emails, topics & etc. etc. ... ),
SE development being well known more & more, even picked by a magazine, is very good news  self proving nobody is that much fool that long time   world is big enough.
Hence it is all party time  :bounce:

I hope you will understand in future, only hope  If you like we can discuss on a seperate discussion topic instead of current good news topic.

Sadly I am long writer :turtle:, I hope you are a good reader.

Funny, heise/c't included my (renamed) SumatraPDF_universal.script, in fact a former version of it.
Funny because it's not featured by ChrisR's regular Win8PESE release ...

Lancelot, I don't understand a single thing of your last message, sorry... Can you sum it up in one clear sentence?

Mikka, I guess c't should have given you a bit more credit for your script. I usually like c't a lot, I think it's the best computer magazine around. Of course, they're not perfect either...

And for the people saying "big deal, we're in magazine x or y all the time" - I think it's nice that PESE is getting some press, it's a nice compliment to the developers and community. And when there's not a lot of discussion on the forum, I don't see why I shouldn't mention it.

@Mikka,

yes c't makes lots of wrong things on these plugins (not only yours...),
if they had asked around here before distribution things would be smoother and even better for them,
hopefully if they have ability to learn from their past experience, next time.  .

Maybe Atari800xl can post such comments on their forums and invite them here next time
I am sure all of us would like to see better package on such distributions....

Lancelot, I have to agree.

I took some time and went through the forum for "c't notfall Windows 2013".
I did not check the "c't notfall" edition out yet, but my impression is, there are quite a few unnecessary problems due to that.
Problems that won't occur with ChrisR's regular release which runs smooth and stable.

Some commenter wrote, the c't release was "sewn in a great hurry".
He might not be that mistaken...

I just hardly find
http://www.heise.de/ct/artikel/c-t-Notfall-Windows-2013-2055161.html
and read some of these things, I fully agree with your above comments.

I hope c-t readers are clever enough to get an original copy and find here to get support....
Good part, they give both links on their web site

I checked the c't featured scripts, well, they're not the cream of the crop.
Some given ideas (for tools) are nice, but e.g. Lancelot's ODIN script (btw, interested in an updated version I did?) is way better.

Well, I guess the authors had rather little time for research...

I am sure you update very easly , since I %99 (on purpose) create easly updatable plugins.   :great:

Currently none of us have extra time these days to update or check & add new things, instead focused on core stuff and support with available minimum time .... Lots of things waits Summer time  :swimmer:

Well, I guess the authors had rather little time for research...
I fully agree
