Cannot rename folder, old problem crops up again ...

I was using Win10PE-SE. Decided to rebuild my Win10 PE and used Win10XPE_2020-07-08.7z.

I got all my scripts/programs working. And, I learned to edit pecmd.ini too ;-)

However I'm facing the 'cannot rename folder' problem. This has been around for a while.
If I use the reg file from :
http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/8703-default-file-type-associations-restore-windows-10-a.html
then I can rename folders. It's a HUGE reg file.

Is this happening for others too, or have I done something wrong?!

Using Win 10 LTSC 32bit.

I created a new folder and tried to rename it. I get this :


Then if I press cancel, I get this :


I've seen this error since Win10 LTSB 2016.
There are many posts on the net about this.

I retried with a unmodified Win10XPE. I only unchecked all apps.
Same problem.

Edit : for what it's worth, Win10PE-SE from the same source does not have this prob.

that Folder created in RamDisk will not exist upon a reboot - so is it really a problem ??

The prob happens on any drive.

I just wanted to avoid creating a folder anywhere else.

Maybe try a different Source

i tested with last build and its ok no problem to rename folder or file ...

i remember slore had the same problem with his wimbuilder but i cant remember where the discussion is ...

Already Exists in registry - so at a lose as to what you are using for a project or of any edits you have made regarding your WinPE registry

LTSC does not have OneDrive.
I could not find {A52BBA46-E9E1-435f-B3D9-28DAA648C0F6} in winre.wim or install.wim

Try using Retail Release or Retail Preview Release - Pro Index

also the reason others do not have the same problem and can not verify your complaint - they are using a retail release
