I tried an experiment using the above software just to see how effective it was. My operating system is Windows 8.1 Pro
x86 with KMS activation on an Advent Verona laptop. My objective was to migrate all my software programs, user account and
user files into a fresh install of Windows 8. (A downgrade migration). The software included Microsoft Office 2013 Pro
Plus, Acronis Trueimage 2014, Adobe Reader Pro, Photoshop, Total Uninstall and numerous other cracked programs. I set
PCMover to work on my C drive, directing the backup into my D drive on the same hard disk. It took 90 minutes for 26 Gb of data.
I then wiped my C drive and did a fresh install of bare Windows 8 Pro. After re-installing PCMover, I ran it again to
restore everythin into my new windows. Again it took 90 minutes.
After 2 reboots my computer repair option came on and I could not boot into windows. An examination with my WinPE8.1 usb
stick revealed that the only problem was altered drive letters. I could have re-lettered them but it was quicker to use
EasyBCD to edit the system BCD file. After that, all my software worked perfectly.
A success for PCMover 6.
