As PEBakery Editor not backwards compatible...

PEBakery does not have its own text editor, but by default uses Notepad, also allowing you to select any compatible editor you wish, ie Notepad++, UltraEdit etc
The Interface Editor available in the later beta version creates cleaner code than BuilderSE

Thanks APT...

I did not understand how things where so strange with those plugins...
It had to be method used or editor or something...

Since created for PEBakery and Tested with PEBakery
Maybe should create PEBakery Plugins with TYPE=PEBakery
Not sure PEBakery will Evolve as a PE Project, but there seems to be a push in that direction...

nothing new,
LiveSystemPro also use UTF8 scripts since much before pebakery with available 4 projects which I guess supports unicode xxx !

Trouble is,
LiveSystemPro have its own extension .srt that does not aim to create trouble for end users.
(imagine LiveSystemPro use .script , which would be intentional "game" to push end users, well it is not. Good Kare )

PEBakery do not change extension (eg. from .script to .blabla ) when file converted to unicode xxx or whatever, which naturally cause trouble to end user.
It was on my list till PEBakery decide to go on another path of development.....

I hope it is not a "game" to push mix end users mind and ied206 make such an update to prevent end users have trouble.
Other way, again somebody playing games.... There is more than 1 gamer around pe world.

Life.... :turtle:

Long time no see, Lancelot.

To be short, I can definitely assure that this is not a 'game'.
If PEBakery 'converts' script files' encoding or something, then it is a mistake not a planned thing.

1. PEBakery does not change a .script file's encoding.
It only looks for BOM to figure out if the script file is specially marked for unicode.
Vritually every legacy script for WinBuilder does not have BOM because WinBuilder cannot handle BOM nor support unicode.

2. PEBakery never tries to break compatibility with WinBuilder.
PEBakery tries hard to keep compatibility as a drop-in replacement.
The only caveat is that PEBakery's parser is more stricter. This fixed lots of potential of issues from .script files, I guess

Hi ied206,

Long time no see, Lancelot.
Nice to see you around.

Good to read that.

I hope you figure out reason behind. Good luck.
