I doubt that NightMan or yahooUK can answer. They are no longer around unfortunately or in shade.
Their name remained out of respect for their previous work, some time ago now

Q: How to enable a password at logon and for the lock screen in Win8.1SE (OS built) ?
A: Enable the checkbox Password in Shell & Config plugin.
The password is predefined to 8181 by default. Nnumeric for not having keyboard worries.
It is encrypted in the SAM hive and without the encryption algorithm, it is not possible to change it easily.
If you still want to change it, you can change the password in the running PE and recover registry changes of the SAM hive.

Q: How to enable a password at logon and for the lock screen in WinXpese ?
A: You can use the ClearLock plugin to enable a password for the lock screen.
You can also lock the computer at startup by enabling the checkbox with the same name "Lock on computer startup".
