Sorry if this has been asked before, but I did search these forums and got a slight migraine with how the search function works....
My current "golden image" needs to have a way to re-image itself when our IT staff are in the field. I can create a WinPE partition with the tool in the Windows AIK and it boots fine, it is just a command line tho and some people that work with us havent ever seen one, and would be really confused on how to use it.
My process will be as follows, the OS is already on the hard drive so I am just adding a second and third partition:
1. Create Win7PE SE partition to boot from (I want this to be a FULL GUI)
2. Create new partition in which to clone the Windows7 Recovery and OS partitions to -by creating a 2 folders on this partition, 1 for moving the 100MB recovery partition files to (named recovery) and another to move the OS partition files to (named OS)
3. Xcopy all files (hidden and system) from the 100MB partition to the "recovery" folder in step 2, then xcopy all files (hidden and system) from the OS drive to the "OS" folder in step 2.
4. When Win7PE SE boots I would like an executable on the desktop of that the technician only need to double click and the following process happens - 1, reformat the C: drive (windows recovery drive as shown in WinPE from Windows AIK) 2, reformat the D: drive (OS Partition as shown in WinPE from Windows AIK), 3 copy contents of the "recovery" folder from step 2 to the C: drive, 4 copy contents of the "OS" folder from step 2 to the D: Drive, 5 recreate the MBR if needed (will have to test and see if this is needed or not).
But first I need some help to install the Win7PE SE system onto this WinPE recovery Partiton.
Thanks for any help!
