Any update on Bluetooth Device Support XPEPlugin? The current one by KYHI dated 2020.01.06. It does not work at all.

reading other topic - it would appear you also need to add Media transfer protocol, full software hive and wait 10 minutes

Thanks, @Jimehc and @noelBlanc

I did these: Media transfer protocol, full software hive and wait 10 minutes. However, I still cannot pair my bluetooth mouse.

@noelBlanc What other programs did you modify? Can you also point me to the help and explanation in the WiMbuilder2 project?

hi mdp7060
Sorry for my poor english.
I don't know  which point winpXPE has reached in BTH.
I hope nobody here make competition between builder.
You can find an entry point for WimBuilder2 here : http://theoven.org/index.php?topic=2390.0
The first page din't speak about BTH, but i'm sure it is possible because i participe to make bth possible in winpe (not only with WPD/MTP and Microphone).

Be carefull, Bth-LE doesn't work in Winpe (i can explain but i need a humain translator !).
Perhaps you mouse is "Bth-LE"...
Have a good day

@noelBlanc: Thanks a lot. Your script came with the Win10XPE program. It says that "Currently Bluetooth Tray Icon Pairing Menu NOT Working". I read the discussion in the WimBuilder2 section. Not much information was there about your script. It is known for a long time that both WinPE and WinRE do not have BlueTooth support. So I just gave it up.

who does say that? I use BTH in "my" winpe for 1 or 2 years. Slore also in WimBulder2.
I make pairing with 2 tools : with"my" tool, and with DevicePairingWizard.exe.
And Yes, i modify some programs to suppress tempo.

Don't be angry if my poor english seems agressive. It's not my intention.
On the contrary I am very friendly but english is too bad for me.

Did you try to build with Slore's WimBulder2? If you add your BTH drivers, i'm sure it works.
note : "BTH-LE" doesn't work in "my" winpe because pairing needs "Modern GUI/Metro"   application (no API if i remember)

If you want you can. But it needs some work and some time.

Have a good day.

@noelBlanc: Many thanks. When you select Bluetooth plugin in Win10XPE (released on 2021-01-16), it shows "Currently Bluetooth Tray Icon Pairing Menu NOT Working". Your are correct, when I added the drivers, bluetooth showed up. However, there is no way I can add (pair) bluetooth devices.

I tried WimBuilder2-Full.v2021-02-02.7z. I think that Bluetooth is removed from the pack. Even I updated it, the bluetooth "main.bat" is missing from "01-Components\Bluetooth" folder, which only has en-US.js, main.html and zh-CN.js. There is no option even under the "Full".

Although WimBuilder2 is super fast, but its current version is not stable at all. Win10XPE is more stable and user friendly.

Yes you are correct about Bluetooth LE. MS does not provide a win32 api for that version of bluetooth only the original bluetooth. Only way to connect LE devices ( mice / keyboards ) is via the Metro connect device gui.

@mdp7060
about WimBuilder2, i find an explanation in http://theoven.org/index.php?topic=1639.220 reply #239.
Because my poor english... perhaps it can help you to make a test.
It is a good think if we know if you mouse BTH works with the actually winpe-BTH because all builders use the same base actually.

@sandy because my poor english...do you want to say that all mouses are BTH-LE and so all mouses will never work in the winpe actual with BTH support? I never find a bth mouse to test. Do you get some informations about the techincal architecture of the support of "metro" application? I never find a document that explain that. I find only "how to write an UWP", how to deploy...

It would seem to me that public support or development for all the projects is lacking - a lot of the current development seems to be personal development or some sort of a competition

For PE, just add/remove files or registry items to product boot.wim. Any builder can create same Windows PE(boot.wim).

Script can be converted to batch file, and batch file also can be converted to script file.

Every builder has it own characteristic.

If you like to use WinBuilder083's WIN10XPE project, you can convert the bluetooth main.bat to bluetooth_XPE.script,
so that you can be the one who support or development for projects without competition.

@NoelBlanc, I am not saying all bluetooth mice are LE. The Logitech dual wireless / bluetooth mice I use are stated by Logitech to use LE mode.

@noelBlanc: Thank you so much. I have now managed to show the BTH drivers in Driver manager and the BTH icon in the taskbar. However, there is not way that I can pair a BTH device.

@medp7060
Please, try WINDOWS\system32\DevicePairingWizard.exe. This is the program that launch "device and priniter"/ Add Device GUI.
I you use XPE/SE winpe, i can't know if this file and dependires is present.
If you know how to use procmon, perhaps you can search and find someting missing.
Sorry, i can't help XPE/SE project because my poor english .... I'm not a competitor and i like to share when it's not too complex....with my poor english.

@noelBlanc:
many thanks. I am trying to get it to work in WinXPE. It is mentioned in the "main.bat" for WimBuilder2's Bluetooth component that the code was based on your "bluetooth.ps1". However, I cannot find where you posted the Powershell script. Would you please share it here again?

You can find it here : http://theoven.org/index.php?topic=1639.0 (for script V26)
My PDF document is too old on this first page. I'm actually working to re-write it.
Slore "translates/copies/adapts" easy for his WimBuilder2 tool : no complexity, only add services, files, keys ( many keys ). But if the base of the files, key is too different, maybe the delta will be more complex to identify

I hope you win !

So what did you have to do to get it working or displaying the Bluetooth? It appears you added your Bluetooth driver, but what edits did you have to make to script ?

@Jimehc

noelBlanc do not use Win10XPE. noelBlanc do not write script files. your question "what edits did you have to make to script ?" shows you do not read relevant replies.
noelBlanc provides documentation of his findings which if you are interested you can follow.
You can find it here : http://theoven.org/index.php?topic=1639.0 (for script V26)

noelBlanc also wrote:

@Slore, @noelBlanc

I know you have good intentions. But when you post to Win10XPE topics, they will always ask for a xpeplugin (xpeplugin .script file) which you are naturally not interested.

And things can go nasty & ugly at one point at Win10XPE topics, that is the reason I decided to put a reply now to avoid.

Consider that with your future replies at Win10XPE section.  :wink:
 (eg. I do not write anything related to PE at Win10XPE section anymore, only moderating when required that is all. )
