Never Was Good With History..
But the reason is, Chris and I Shared - by date..

It was just the message in the message box that was revised..

Hi mbstech

I assume that is the correct way to add these XPE plugins, if not please let me know

definitely NOT the method of adding a premade plugin
I guess you can put them anywhere under \Projects\MyPlugins\Apps\  as you suggested, but we try and place them in a logical ordered way

eg
Runtime_XPE could go somewhere like
\Projects\MyPlugins\Apps\HD Tasks\Recover\   .... simply copy the one or both  xxx.script files to that location
making sure you select the plugin on the lefthand pane, and select any options if required (if there are any)

I'm sure your other queries will be addressed when others login

regards APT

ps If I misunderstood your post - forgive me, it sounded like you are placing the plugins under \Apps\XPE Plugin Creator folder
and running that plugin to install them!

Hey APT,

I am just placing them in that folder, then refreshing, then checkboxing the "app", then selecting options as you suggested.  Then I do nothing else, I do NOT then run that plugin to install them, no.  I imagine that would cause all kinds of issues, that's kinda like inception, lol, using the plugin creator to make a script from the script that the plugin maker originally created, lol.

"XPE Packed Plugin Creator" Warning message is wrong,
there is no option on "XPE Packed Plugin Creator" with "'*Use: Enable 'Point Folder"

Ya know when I first got that error I did a bit of googling and many said that you go into options and enable point folder, I couldn't find it anywhere in options.  This is why I originally posted this.

Also, I noticed that some of the plugins listed here at the link below either have errors or just simply don't work (or maybe I am doing something wrong):
Please report an errors found...
But You Have To Download All Parts of the plugin for the Plugin to work..
And the parts need to be placed into same Apps/directory..
Plugins are tested with XPE as a Stand Alone project

James,

I am working on this and testing some of the more useful plugins to me.  Some of them have some issues, I will post them soon.  I know that some of my issues with some of them were easily solved after checking the logs and then changing settings accordingly.

But I do have a quick question regarding this.  See the screenshot below, when I add the Runtime V2 software plugin that APT posted, it shows up like this in XPE when you refresh, like the name is missing/corrupt.

https://imgur.com/a/ZbeV1rz

I now have a new problem...

So, I am trying to make a plugin for SeaTools diagnostics and WD DLG tools (using the XPE plugin creator), but each time I think it will work, when I try to open either of them in PE, it says "This app can't run on your PC".  Now I can take the contents of the zip file that I use for the plugin creation, extract that to the same folder and both SeaTools and DLG Tools will launch their respect applications inside Windows with no issues, proving the files are portable, no install needed.  But I can't get them to run in the PE.  There are no errors about them in the log when building.  I also have this same issue with the old portable app called "Unstoppable Copy".

Any help or pointers on why these 3 apps that seem to be portable and work fine inside Windows without installing, yet they won't work in PE?

As far as the RunTime plugins concerned it appears to have got corrupted in the upload and is missing/corrupt the [Main] section

I have yet again tested 105 Plugins in one clean fresh Build...
Each one auto-updated and No Errors..

And most will pull up a Message Box telling you to enable a setting, if it is required..

Those are not plugin errors - those are Help Messages For user Errors..

I get this error every time I try to build with the UltraISO 9 plugin.

Then the log shows a blank warning message.  See here:

I am quite sure it is user error on my part, I just don't know why.

Also, is there a reason someone hasn't made a plugin yet for hard drive testing tools, like SeaTools or WD DLG tools?  I have tried using the plugin creator but when in PE, it says this app won't run on this PC.  When it runs portable in windows just fine.  Again, it is probably some user error on my part.

Hi mbstech

I'm guessing, but are you using uiso9_pe.exe, because this plugin is for the retail version uiso9_pes.exe
IF you are using the former, then James version of the  Plugin was designed around that file
if your using the latter, then post the log and I'll endeavour to help

regards APT

ps I'm not sure how different they are, you could always try renaming the pe to pes and see what happens (if that was it!)

It would appear that you are using X86 App in X64 Build WITHOUT "WOW64 Basic" enabled in Build Core
Or
You have overlooked something within your plugin....

Thanks APT and James!

I have solved most of my issues, one of them was the fact that I didn't have .net checked/installed and some apps needed that.

I do have one question and I haven't attempted this yet so I wanted to ask before I did.

I found out my issue with SeaTools not running.  It needs a specific version of Visual C (2013 x86 - ver 12.0.21005).

Since Visual C isn't a "portable" application can I still use the plugin creator to get this version in XPE or what is the best way to go about getting this specific version of Visual C in XPE?

MS Visual C++ Runtime

SeaGate Tools For Windows

WD Data Lifeguard Diagnostic

Wow, absolutely amazing James.  I was not expecting this as a reply.  I was planning on sharing both of those plugins when I got them working, but you already got it, and the visual C's work great.

I can share GImageX if you need, I am also working on Intel SSD Toolbox and Samsung Magician plugins, once complete and working I can share them if you like.  You can probably have them made in the snap of a finger, lol.

I appreciate all the support and help with this amazing builder.  Again, I have no issues sharing any plugins that I make.

Hey James,

Sorry it took so long, I had my plugins created and then I accidentally wiped the drive that had them on it....

I have a few plugins ready to share:

GImageX
GSmart Control
Crystal Disk Info
Samsung Magician
Intel SSD Toolbox

The only issue that I see is some of the file scripts are rather large, SSD Toolbox is 130 MB, Samsung Magician is 25 MB.

Let me know how I should post these, for the small ones, I can go ahead and post them to the main plugin thread if you want me to.

For large files - I try to use Auto Update - so the plugin distribution size is small..
thus the program file is downloaded and encoded by user..
Otherwise you may have to compress or host from your personal cloud account...

Hey James,

Sorry for the long delay.  I am new to this plugin thing, so getting the auto update thing to work might be too much for me, lol.

I just posted the GImageX plugin script to the plugins area, feel free to change as you see fit.

I also made plugins for Double Driver, Crystal Disk Info, GSmartControl, WD Lifeguard Tools, Seagate SeaTools, and Unstoppable Copy, but I see you and others have already got all of those posted, lol.

The only other 2 that I made that hasn't been posted already are one for Intel SSD Toolbox and Samsung Magician (both SSD tools) but file scripts are too big (Intel: 131 MB probably could be trimmed; Samsung: 26 MB maybe could be trimmed), I don't know enough about the auto updating thing, and I don't have any personal cloud space.  I'll see about either getting the file scripts smaller and post, or maybe just post a simple script and then someone could make it auto update?

Thanks again to all who support, design, create, or add to this wonderful tool.

I guess you do not realize that the gimagex.zip file contains both the x86 and x64 program versions...

the difference is the Program.exe Name

recreate the plugin and try
Code: [Select]
%ProgramExe%=GimageX.exe
%ProgramExex64%=GimageX_x64.exe

Ok, will do.  I will also attempt to make a couple of my other scripts auto updatable and once I get those tested and working I will post them too.

Ok, so I updated my GImageX script in the plugins thread to include x86. (If I did it wrong, maybe you can fix).

I have been attempting to do an auto update for the Samsung Magician and Intel SSD Toolbox without much luck.  With continue more when I have time.

On Your new GimageX XPEPlugin you need to remove line
Code: [Select]
If,%Architecture%,Equal,x86,Exit,"This %ProgramTitle% x64 Only Plugin Does Not Support x86 Build - You Need To Enable A 64-Bit Build"

Or mark out line
Code: [Select]
//If,%Architecture%,Equal,x86,Exit,"This %ProgramTitle% x64 Only Plugin Does Not Support x86 Build - You Need To Enable A 64-Bit Build"
