Hi everybody,

Many thanks for this wonderful project, I encounter a curious bug that I didn't manage to resolve with the computer name especially netbios name for networking.

On Win7PESE the computer name is random but not the same as netbios name which is nevertheless good for me.

But on Win10PESE it is always set to MINWINPC which cause me a nasty bug, I can't have two booted computers on PE connecting to the file server ... Duplicate machine name on the same network is not good for Samba. Searched for register key without success, all seems to be fine with the name showed in computer properties (the same as BGinfo for Win7PESE or Coolmon for Win10PESE).

Any suggestion is welcome,

Thanks

Also interested if anyone know a way to disable netbios name in Win10PESE as it is on Windows 10 by default.

Thanks in advance

Did a lot of search, no entry for MINWINPC in registry but given as an environment var by process explorer. Can't find where it can be, managed ton disable Netbios but no network drive working without it in Win10PESE.

At the moment I also have no idea how to manage this.
I could manually change the Netbios behavior by setting the NetBt parameter "NetbiosOptions" for the specific adapter to 2 and after 'restarting' the device there is only 1 name to communicate with the device.
Interesting to see that the Netbios name is here set to Win10PESE by default.
At the moment I do some rewriting of the PENM GUI (cause of some misunderstands the last years) and I can maybe add an option to also enable/disable Netbios over TCPIP.

Many thanks for the tip of 'restarting' the device with the parameter on 2, for the name even with nothing on the Optimization script avoiding fixing the name it stay on MINWINPC, that's not the case on Win7PESE.

If I specify a name in the Optimization script it write it in NetBios name, didn't manage to generate random name on this script.

It is a big mystery for me because nowhere in registry there is MINWINPC and I have no idea where else it could be. Found only in user environment var which should be in registry but that's not the case. The option for enable/disable Netbios is interesting for me for doing some tests.

Good luck for the rewriting and thanks for your work and your answer.

Did you manage to get rid of the the line containing MINWINPC ? Using the parameter and desactivating/reactivating network card allow me just to change one of the two line, the one with <20>. On file server it remain the MINWINPC name that is use for establish the connection and so no possibility to have multiple connections.
