Title: Partition Wizard Home Edition
Post by: trashy on March 21, 2014, 03:51:48 AM
I used this long long time ago on LiveXP, always found it to be very easy to use.
Copies files from local Install directory, so you have to install the program first.
Download link included in plugin. Says it's compatible with XP, Vista, Win7 and Win8.
I've only tested on Win7PE_SE so far.

 Gena\Apps\HD Tasks\"Partition Wizard Home"
compatible to all projects around  :great: providing a set of nice options
I just updated to v8.1.1

Dear trashy,

thanks a lot for your contribution. PWZ is a very good partition manager.

Lancelot - it appears the correct location is  Gena-Sweet\Apps\HD Tasks\

Thanks to both of you.. for contributing such great tools for us to use.

BTW Lancelot, would it be possible if you update EaseUS partition manager and PartitionGuru to the latest version? I would love to have them also on my Win8.1SE tools.

cheers. :great: :great: :great:

Sorry Lancelot
I  loved XP and PE1 it was hard to give it up but fast becoming a dinosaur.
Finally changed every ones PC to Win7 about a year ago, about same time I joined The Oven.
Downloaded Gena and looked at it briefly but really don't pay it much attention.
I run my PE projects in separate folders.

Is your point General Plugins is for plugins to be shared among all PE projects,
or Partition Wizard already been done.

Hi trashy,

*
Is your point General Plugins is for plugins to be shared among all PE projects,
or Partition Wizard already been done.
Yes and Yes

*
Finally changed every ones PC to Win7 about a year ago,
I use win81 since ~ half a year now
Also Girlfriend netbook with win7 + 2 PC with nt5x(x86 + x64) under my responsibility

*
I feel what you think ,
 just to fix: ,
we write the plugins in a compatible way,
we do not test each plugin on each project to be sure, just test the one at hand
ex: your above plugin already compatible to all projects (including Gena and all SE, I guess you only tested with a SE at hand with a x86 or x64 source)
ps: Gena and Yomi have a great number of apps plugins to be used in between projects.

This gives us advantages,
+ to share in between
+ to improve easly with different projects or source architectures or whatever time brings.
ex: PartitionWizard plugin on Gena already support multi project for different architectures (including drivers you may miss) + providing some interesting build options.
.....

I run my PE projects in separate folders.
This is THE problem that cause you miss good things. ( like Partition Wizard already available)

All TheOven projects designed to run under same base folder, (also standalone)
You can be sure each using fully different folders/files (=no project touch others folders )

This makes life easier for all users and you
+ Tidy folder on disk
+ Sharing plugins in between very easy, (see links in following about "Share Plugins" plugin)
(instead of copying plugins to folders for each project)

See post 2 here and follow link
http://theoven.org/index.php?topic=927

Shortly, run all TheOven projects unders same base folder
ex: D:\Oven
ps: Gena, all SE, Yomi to same base folder
Following instructions will give you some hundered plugins easly on any project

I hope that replies all your questions / confusions in mind.

See You

Yup that answers my question.
I know I got a lot to learn and can't learn if I don't ask the RIGHT questions.
Thanks Lancelot

I also replied on AEOLIS post for Partition Wizard.
I can understand the reasoning behind this, run all projects from one folder.
The problem is most don't understand, they want to build one project and go to
one plugin page to download additional plugins.

It should be noted somewhere on the main web page about cross platform compatibility
and to get access to all the best plugins which projects should be downloaded etc...
It would limit excessive posting and clutter on plugin pages, would limit the posting of duplicate plugins.

PS: Aeolis does good work, he's better at it than I am, I've downloaded his work before.

There is FAQ link on all project main screen, where cross platform compatibility written,
Maybe we need to write more about it

Dear Trashy,

I ran your script on Win8.1SE x64 and it worked like a charm. The good thing about your script is not only Partition Wizard is there, the MiniTool power data recovery program is also present in my 8.1SE. Both ran great.

Thanks a lot for your hard work.

My plugin is very basic, no registry entries nothing extra.
Partition Wizard is pretty much portable, will run from any where.
Open the PartitionWirard.script in notepad and take a look.
Lets say you have a program you like  and want to add it to your PE build.
Boot to PE navigate to folder containing program and click on it.
If it runs it would be easy to add to your PE build.

Thanks Trashy... I remember I tried to run Partition Wizard as a portable program in Win8.1SE by copying the installed program files to Win8.1SE USB, it did not run properly. But with your script it works fine.
