Hi. I am trying for some days to add somehow the Microsoft Word 2013. Please tell me which is the easyeste way to do that. I tried more ways but non of them worked for me. One of the problems is that, every exe app which i am trying to install, can not install because the "Boot (X)" partition its only 500MB and the "Word 2013" install has 600 mb or more...so, if you can not help me with an solutions to install Word 2013, at least tell me how can I extend the size of this partition "Boot (X)". I mention that i have this windows installed in an usb 128 GB, and it works very nice, but my only problem is that I realy need to have installed Word 2013, otherwise, i can not work. Thank you in advace!

at least tell me how can I extend the size of this partition "Boot (X)".

With Win10RE origin fbwf.sys driver + registy settings, you can extend the "X:" partition's size to be 4GB.

see Build -> 2-Shell & Config have the FBWF cache size option on WIN10PESE builder(max to be 2GB with the option).

With WES8's fbwf.sys driver + fbwf.cfg, you can set to very bigger size(<= 128GB).

Hi. Thank you very much for your reply. But, can you please explain me with more words how to do the things you exlpained me? Can I extend with the operating system opened? Or I need to introduce the stick in another computer? I mention that my system is this: Win10PE SE

Applications that are not necessary when booting via "Run from Normal" go to Y partition,
what is the X partition (boot.wim) smaller, faster is boot.

Office programs are generally not suitable for Live Win because they are insane and unnecessarily large,
fat as cancer

One of the options is to try to make / use plugin for Word Viewer.
With it you can watch and print documents.
If I'm not mistaken the last version is Word Viewer 11.0.8173.
Inconvenient detail is what he needs and Compatibility Pack to work with new formats (docx).

An alternative is another program.
I'm not sure but I think Ms Write (WordPad) can work with docx documents.

Another and better alternative is free LibreOffice which has a portable version,
which means it will be easier to integrate.
The entire LibreOffice suite portable is 152MB but you can only extract Writer.

The FBWF cache size - is additional space created in Ram (x)
This is in addition to the total size of expanded Boot.wim
There should be no need to expand X partition to accommodate Word 2013

What you need is a working MS Office 2013 Plugin or an alternative Office App

SoftMaker FreeOffice_PESE_Plugin

The problem is that all the "office/word 2013" which i found and which i downloaded, doesen't allow me to install them on another partition then "x". As i already wrote first, installed this windowd on an 128GB stick, and i imstalled on stick with rufus. And rufus is creating me 2 partitions: "x" with 500mb and "c" with the rest of the space 127gb, but the problem is that all the programs which i downloaded doesent allow me to install them on "c" or to change the path from "x" to "c" and thats why i asked, how can i extend the size of the "x" partition. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT. Greeting from Transylvania, Romania.

By your txt it is concluded that you are doing something wrong.
In Live win you do not "install" some app but you need it "prepare it".
OK, install passes for small and portable applications, for bigger and more complicated you need to "prepare it".

As a basis, take Win10PESE project and first generate the basic one and make sure that it works for you.
In the options under Finals you have the ability to create a USB stick with Rufus.
You can use that 128 GB of what you have.
The result will be, boot part (X:) and remaining space with applications (Y:).

If you do so, there will be no need to increase X: partition, additional apps by default go to Y: partition.

Only when you do it, you can you seek a solution for "Word".
In the post above colleague James, proposed one of the possible solutions.

You did not answer if it must be "full version" (edit) or you only need a viewer and print functions.

When you Installed "WINDOWS" on USB with Rufus it created a 500mb "System" partition & the rest was the "Primary" partition...
Neither was X or Y....

So are you Building WINDOWS or WINPE ???

I use a Single Partition 32GB USB drive - Formatted FAT32

When running WinPE on a Machine -
X is the Memory Drive and Y is the USB drive
You can install a program to "X" Memory if there is enough WinPE Cache (usually set to 1024) via Plugin
You can also install the Program Files to "Y" USB Drive if the drive is writable and has enough space...

The problem with WinPE is that the "Windows" Folder is written into memory and all changes are lost if you reboot back into WinPE
Thus you must prepare a Plugin to integrate the PROGRAM into WinPE

So, In my mind something's are just not adding up here..

As James said you would be better off with WPS office unlees you want to create your own plugin.  I took a look at this and even the stand-alone MS Word 2013 installer requires over 1700mb of free space on X: (Or whatever your system drive is) to for the installer to run to install Word by itself.

I'm sure the final installed plugin would be much smaller, maybe only a few hundred mb, but due to the space requirements in a PE environment for installation, and the time required to "sideload" an application into a plugin from one that is already installed on a live windows system (with no garuantee it will work) it is unlikely anyone will make the attempt for you. (Especially since your asking for an outdated version - MS Word 2013)

There are, however, alternatives ready made, that suit WinPE much better.

Windows Preinstall Environement is not even supposed to host and support such huge installs.

i don't see what is the benefit to run Word 2013 or any other version from PE!
Alternatives can do almost everything office do, unless you need some specific tasks which i'm not aware of.

Anyway, i just tested a portable version of Office 2007 : Excel and Powerpoint worked fine but Word didn't.

jad0802 i do not think Windows PE is good for you.  Maybe you will have better luck elsewhere...

For other users, WPS office is more comparable to newer versions of Word as Word 2013 is outdated (WPS is also compatible with PDF's).

I thank you all for your support BUT, a last favour, tell me how to extend the "X:" partition, i still want to make some tests. I would prefer to use word 2013, even if this would mean to install word after every re-boot. I know that mayve for you guys it has no logic, but please explaine me step by step how can i extend the "X:" partitio to at least 1Gb, from 500 mb which it has now. Thank you very much in advance for your patience!

You can change the size of X: in the shell and config plugin in the builder.

I am not a professionist. Please tell me how can i get in that menu? Should i introduce the stick with the windows in another pc to edit the size of x partition? Or i can make that modification directly when i am booting the windows from stick? I am not expert, thats why i asked you to explain me how to get there....if you think is less disturbing for the other, write me in private please. Thank you so much!!!
