Windows 8 Developer Preview PE

Can be usefull with file list or grab some info for whom will be willing to get ready new operating sytem. It is unfinished project. Need to autologin administrator for full favour that i could not achived. Comments wellcome whom can succeed.

Looks great, as expected 

Personally I have not much interests in Windows 8 anymore (after seeing Metro and the disappointing embedded version)
Need to see how "windows to go" evolves maybe it can replace WinPE, but to early to say something about...

I made consumer preview pe also. working on it. It gets to build winpe more easy. Services does not get much problems. Adding fbwf,ramdisk,winfsf services can turn full windows to a winpe (need stop some conlict services readyboost,peauth,hibernation.) As always main problem stays that

1-)System user doesn not have rights to run main programs (Explorer,Control Panel)
2-)Need change user to administartor.

My only main problem for now is to start windows firewall service. It is always pain. Without it wpeutil does not function as it should. Probably there is permission error at "mpssvc" and "sharedacess services". Because of that depended services not autostarts. Other services looks working. Bitlocker service makes crashes (disabled until i focus). Did not see metro apps anywhere. When user changed to administrator explorer gets some crashes. I put all system32 exe, dll's until i can optimize with wpeutil.

Ahh, seem explorer problem is tricky, with "interactive User" key inside HKCR\CLASSES\AppID, explorer deny actions with error message. And without he is unstable

Do you know all step necessary to turn full windows into winpe?

As far I remember it was difficult also required SAM, SECURITY and SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\LSA hive changes to avoid 0x7B Blue screen. (Alzheimer attack )

 

I know all the registry keys to turn full windows to winpe but do not know to turn full windows to boot from ram.

To boot full windows from ram is possible. Because i have working examples (downloaded from a russian tracker). But i could not manage to get it work. A man from israel can do them. I have mailied a few times and connected with remote.

SAM, SECURITY and SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\LSA hive changes does not give 0x7B Blue screen at my experiments but when windows boot there is only mouse and a black screen. No shell.
