Greetings All,

I have been making good progress with the learning curve for WIN7PE SE and I thank everyone for your help is getting me started.

I have built a WIN7PE SE iso in "normal" mode and have been able to copy it over to a VHD file for testing to install an application driver. The application driver needs me to boot the WIN7PE SE into SAFE mode but I am not sue of the way to do it on the PE version that has been created.

Could someone please advise me on how to reboot into safe mode?

Thanks in advance,
Lonnie

You know that the PE registry is read only in PE, do you?
So after a restart the driver will not be installed.

However safe mode can be set with bcdedit.

bcdedit -store "bcd_path" -set {guid} safeboot minimal

Thanks for the reply,

I had just located the information and details on using bcdedit when I got your response.

Is there any way to make the registry rw?
