ChrisR, thank you so much for the new 20141017 updated projects!!!
I must say I didn't really expect this at all, with you being so busy, and after your little "warning" that you would take a little break from PE...

With my notes handy, I adapted the three projects to my own tastes (all settings/ extracted iso and wim folders/ own apps, etc), zipped them up again, and made my new w7pese-32, w8pese-64 and w81se-pe64xp editions (last one is a nice one: w81se - pe version - built on xp).
Everything worked 100% right from the first build!!! (Actually never had that happen before...)

So it's been a very productive week: Added to the new PE's, there were new sysprep-updated october install.wim files for w7-32, w8.1-32, w8.1-64, even XP-with-POSready updates for october! Also XPSP4 (Harkaz), the new Acronis 2015 for PE, W10 preview, Lubuntu 2014-10, etc. etc.

I'm so very very happy with all these new "gifts", I just had to make a new topic just to thank you, I hope you don't mind, I guess I'm just used to hitting MDL's "Thank You" button, that I kind of miss it here....

Thanks again Chris, I really appreciate all your hard work!!

Oh, and one question, if I may:
I saw that you included a new Grub4Dos version: v0.4.5c-2014-09-26
Where do you get these new versions from? I regularly check this page:

Code: [Select]
http://code.google.com/p/grub4dos-chenall/downloads/list
, but there's no news there since January/2014.

It's a Christmas miracle... :xmas-grin: :xmas-cheesy: :xmas-good:
Had a busy day, wrapping a lot of things up at work, some last minute shopping, etc.
It's 4 o'clock now, just sitting down with a cup of coffee, checking messages, etc. and I'm watching the new updated project come in "as we speak"!! What an excellent Christmas gift!!
Thank you ChrisR! :you_rock:

OK, I'm done getting the new files, doing my own changes, adding my aps, etc. etc, things are looking good!
On my first test, everything seemed to run perfectly, I tested all four project, with my own portable apps, etc.

Then I saw I accidentally selected "OS in RAM" for 8.1SE, instead of "PE in RAM" (which, I believe was the default in the previous version?).
So for the second build, I selected "PE in RAM" and started a new build. But then, components\mmc.script threw an error:
"Software_Win8.1.7z can't be extracted".
Checking the mmc script, I see encoded sections for "win7.7z", "win8.7z" and "win10.7z", but not "8.1.z7".

This is the best I can explain, I'm not sure why this error only appears with "PE in RAM", and not with "OS in RAM".

ChrisR, I hope you can find this post here, if not I might post it in a more suitable section tomorrow...

Thanks Atari800xl to have tested so quickly and for all indications on the error
A new package is in place, now.

The SoftwareHive variable was badly set (in 1-copy files) on boot.wim for the PE build while it uses the full install.wim Software registry.
For MMC plugin, I Added Win8.1 MMC Software registry. Even if it is no longer useful now in Win8.1SE. The registry is only written If %SoftwareHive% is not Equal to Install.wim.

Otherwise, thank you for the kind words above very pleasant to read, Siginet also

8.1SE build is fine now, but for now, I seem to have lost the taskbar...
This could very well be my own fault, I'll do some more testing today...

Thanks for the new updates, ChrisR!!
Wonderful to see WOW64 has made Win10PESE reach the same level as its "siblings".
As we all know, there are hundreds (thousands?) of ways to "screw up" a build, so every time a new project (-version) comes along, and everything works in the end, I'm still as happy as a kid in a toy store.  :yahoo:

THANK YOU for all your hard work, I'm still very much impressed and amazed!!!

:good_job:

(Come to think of it: any inquiries from German C't magazin yet? Do you think they'll do a  "Notfall PE" again this year?)

I hope you don't mind, but I would like to give an extra thanks to ChrisR for the 20151013 update to Win10PESE,
specially for the small, but very nice tweaks to the tray area:
- "Classic" volume flyout, classic battery flyout, classic Clock/ Date
Also "DisableNotificationCenter". I used this setting before, but according to my notes, this destroyed the complete taskbar in build 9926, so I removed this setting then. Thanks for reminding me that it works fine again!
I also use these tweaks in normal Windows 10, so very nice to see we can hold off these unwanted "immersive shell" things for now...

Thanks for the new 20160205 versions of the projects!
I was getting lots of "FollowThatPage" notifications on the project pages, so I was already hoping for some news

Please keep up the good work!!!

Looking forward to testing the new releases, hope I can ask some questions here. Maybe I'll edit this post later on (if they're stupid questions):

- Win10PESE, Tweaks\PowerOptions.script: Level=0 (invisible), should this be Level=3 (visible)?
