I chose the option to install Mega, downloaded both files (setup and file container) from the Win10PESE's download section. However, on the PE build, it gives me a shortcut to the full installer, instead of adding the codecs and registry in the right folders. Is that how it's supposed to work?

Yes.
It adds setup.exe with a set of dependencies.

it gives me a shortcut to the full installer, instead of adding the codecs and registry in the right folders.

Let us have such plugin,
that will add the codecs and registry in the right folders,
which would be superior.  :great:

I managed to make a simple plugin that does that. It already includes all the necesarry files, but I've only tested it on Win10PESE 64bit. If interested I can post a link to it, and take a few suggestions. K-lite includes several tools, which at the moment I haven't added shortcuts to.
