I want to share with you the recent exchanges that I had with Microsoft LCA World Wide Anti-Piracy Team and mediafire, proving the legality of Win7PE_SE project.

Return from my vacation, I am unpleasantly surprised to find this mail of Mediafire (August 7, 2012) :

Quote
The file "Win7PE_SE_20120714.7z" has been suspended

   Dear MediaFire User:

MediaFire has received notification under the provisions of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA") that your usage of a file is allegedly infringing on the file creator's copyright protection.

The file named Win7PE_SE_20120714.7z is identified by the key     (cahtp5sa2dgazdm).

As a result of this notice, pursuant to Section 512(c)(1)(C) of the DMCA, we have suspended access to the file.

The reason for suspension was:

Microsoft has received information that the domain listed above, which appears to be on servers under your control, is offering unlicensed copies of , or is engaged in other unauthorized activities relating to copyright works published by Microsoft.

Information about the party that filed the report:

Company Name: Microsoft LCA World Wide Anti-Piracy Team
Contact Address: One Microsoft Way, Redmond WA 98052
Contact Name: P........

Copyright infringement violates MediaFire's Terms of Service. MediaFire accounts that experience multiple incidents of alleged copyright infringement without viable counterclaims may be terminated.

If you feel this suspension was in error, please submit a counterclaim by following the process below.
.........

Not understanding the reason of this complaint. I open a counterclaim by explaining what is Win7PE_SE Project and I asked for clarification on what is not appropriate, what is illegal...

And I began an exchange of mail with one of the heads of Microsoft LCA World Wide Anti-Piracy Team.
After having transmited some informations about Win7PE_SE project, I have requested, several times, for clarification on what is unsuitable.
Mails I have received :

Hi Chris,

Can you please complete a counter-claim and on receipt we will take appropriate actions.

Best regards, P...

I specify that the request has already been made and few days later, I have the pleasure of receiving an email from mediafire.

Hello ChrisR,

Thank you for contacting MediaFire. Since the reporting party has not responded to the official counterclaim in the time alloted I have restored access to the files.

We appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

Sincerely,
LaChandra

Reminder: WAIK files are downloaded once at the first build with GetWaikTools by JFX , and Windows 7 files are used from the source directory.

Shortly:
Win7PE_SE has successfully passed the tests of the Microsoft LCA World Wide Anti-Piracy Team, it is Approved as being Legal and distributable .

Win7PE_SE is used by many users for years, this is one of the most popular PE3 projects so far, which also copied with (sadly, Not really honest) other names too, a well Known GREAT Success.
I could not be responsible from any unofficial distributions, copies around internet and illegal ISO compilations shared. I think the Microsoft LCA team has well understood !
