Welcome to FAQ                                                        Google TheOven

Here I divide to 4 parts following Most Frequent:
1) Mini Introduction
Basic information you need to know
2) WinXSE - NT6x
---> Naturally latest WinXSE gets most frequent question.
3) General How to ?
---> General Things that is out of project.
4) Gena  - NT5x
+) TheOven CWcodes

I will also try to follow "most frequent" at a nice order at each section.

How to use current topic:
1)
There is a super universal solution, with CTRL+F (Control F) you can quickly check if your Question exists
(since these are hobby projects with free time it is the current solution we can afford)
2)
You can spend some time to read Questions to get an idea
3)
You can Feedback current topic with a nice Q A  :great: :great:
(open a topic at FAQ section http://TheOven.org/index.php?board=35.0 )
4)
If you can not find what you are looking for
Search TheOven via Google:
Ex:
In google box
Code: [Select]
Where is FAQ site:TheOven.org
Where is FAQ site:TheOven.org

Tip: You can seach plugins on servers the same way using cwcodes.net
ex:
Cryptographic Services site:cwcodes.net

General Advice:
On Projects Start using:
First Check Project Main Plugin/Screen, There you will find basic instructions to start building projects.
First Make a default build, without changing any plugin,
this should give you a working project. ->
At Virtual Test there are emulator plugins available to test final.
VMware Player and Virtual Box are free emulators to test with.
Tip: qEmuX (latest qEmu) can test SE projects slowly - qEmu (old) can not test SE projects

-> If you do not have a working project
check FAQ: Q: My Build Fails (or BSOD or any other trouble) - What to do  ?

Tip: You can build any project on any host with any architecture. If there is a special case Projects designed to check conditions and give info.

Tip: Some AntiVirus behaviours may cause unwanted (ex: unbootable) results.
 ex: Comodo AV - ner0 Reply 12 http://TheOven.org/index.php?topic=1607.msg18973#msg18973
 ex: Avast AV - keror0 Reply 5 http://TheOven.org/index.php?topic=1739

PS: There is also How to start Building Project  ? subject on FAQ.

On Projects:
First Check Project Main Plugin/Screen, There you will find basic instructions to start building projects.
Take a look at all plugins, sometimes all you need is enable a plugin for a feature or application,
Plugins also provide lots of options, sometimes links also exists that gives more info...
Although you will figure out some of them easly, some not easly, you will get the big picture
   Quick read FAQ http://TheOven.org/index.php?topic=834.0

On Creating New Plugins:
Start with Utils\PC Packed (Plugin Creator packed),
This is the Primary way to create plugins, many plugins created with PC Packed,
it will give you a nice Apps plugin in some seconds.
ps: also check  Utils\PC Provide Files for "none distributable" Applications ;).

To develop a plugin that requires additional features,
See FAQ titles on this subject,
Take a look at existing simple plugins at \Apps\ , see codes with "PC Packed",
This is a Self Learning road, syntax is quite easy to follow, no programming skill required,
       just spend some time

If you are a nice people, you will have nice time and fun around.  :cheerleader: :magic: :smart: :matrix:

Since some not nice people, intentionally mix
"Development Forum" with "General Forum" , idiot people, here are more words:

Always Keep In Mind:
We are absolutely free forum, gathered with people to work on things on our Hobby Free Time,
 No Advertisement etc.
   Since 2010-09-27 (5 Years passed quickly ;))
Our Hobby quality is high like all people in the world who like to work on their hobbies,
Hobby Free time is naturally low,
We can not reply all things quickly,
We can not add all features quickly (or forget at all),
We do not add features that does not take our interest, work on it and share with public,
We do not hire people for such goals,
We do not open topics just to increase post or activity numbers like other "General Forums"....

All projects, and many things you find around are created with Contributions.
 Projects are not "compiled executables",
many features requires too many work & time than writing programs,
We are not support forum of a programing project (ex: GitHub, sourceforge etc.)
We can not add features / requests quickly, do not add features and request that does not take our interest of our hobby time.
Shortly: You need contribute about features etc. you think about.

ex:
Reply1 search plugin: http://TheOven.org/index.php?topic=1483

We have our priorities, See Reply 7: http://TheOven.org/index.php?topic=1375.msg15803#msg15803
We successfully work with "Development Upwards" principles for years like all good softwares.

Plugins and Projects constantly and slowly increases :turtle: ,
we DO NOT work with "Development Circle", See Reply 9
http://TheOven.org/index.php?topic=1375.msg15805#msg15805

Development of both Syntax and Organisations always continues,
Thanks to "Development Up" principles ,slowly with limited hobby time.
Syntax Improvement Generally goes with Macro Library http://TheOven.org/index.php?board=14.0
and mostly with Call command http://TheOven.org/index.php?topic=45.0
Ex: Currently 2015.10.11 re organisation with new new Call upload/download commands in progress.
    Ex: Reply 5 http://TheOven.org/index.php?topic=1440.msg17016#msg17016
We slowly make organisational changes, there are currently (2015.10.11) ~2000 plugins on servers, 5+2 active developing projects, we like them all working nicely at any point in time.
Active Forum Members who write plugins informed a lot time (sometimes more than a year) before making changes that will be incompatible in future.
Ex: Reply 65 to Mikka http://TheOven.org/index.php?topic=340.msg17006#msg17006

Development of all plugins and projects are like a BIG ship, :titanic:
we move slow, always forward.  :xmas-beer:

All This well designed but also big development goes with limited hobby time,
 coordination with Project admins,
WE DO NOT TOLERATE anyone who like to waste our very limited time on Development Forum.

After you download and extract zip distribution
First use "Utils\Update XXX (Exact and Secure)"
to get latest plugins from server.

See: How to update project - How to restore project (no need re extract zip file)

How to start Building Project  ?
Follow instructions on Main Plugin,
All Projects at TheOven.org simply say:
  * Point SourceDirectory to a Supported Source
   ( Reply 22 http://TheOven.org/index.php?topic=834.msg17158#msg17158 )
We can not follow all builds/beta/alpha of windows development,
we do not have time for that, up to project admin interest to spend free hobby time...
still we follow feedbacks by end users on different builds/beta/alpha .. than supported sources.
  * Disable AntiVirus
(or add folders (Source and Project folders) to AntiVirus Exclusion list)
(Anti Virus - False Positive - FalsePositive - Antimalware - Antivirus -Antispyware)
++ Sometimes "Disable AntiVirus" no work on some AV,  Some AV features not disabled and can result unbootable.
            ex: Comodo AV - ner0 Reply 12 http://TheOven.org/index.php?topic=1607.msg18973#msg18973
            ex: Avast AV - keror0 Reply 5 http://TheOven.org/index.php?topic=1739
  * Click "Big Blue" button, at top right.

Tip: You can build any project on any host with any architecture. If there is a special case Projects designed to check conditions and give info.

Some more simple advices:
+ SourceDirectory better on harddisk folder (to speed up)
+ Supported Source: On Main Plugin follow Button or Info or Weblink....
( button: "List of Official ....." , "Download Official" )
+ SE Projects: better use Utils\Extract (Wim) Folders to speed up build.

Some NewBie questions:
RChadwick http://TheOven.org/index.php?topic=1435
Prz42 , mixed things, http://TheOven.org/index.php?topic=1455.0

If you fail, see: My Build Fails (or BSOD or any other trouble) - What to do  ?

Q: My Build Fails (or Halt or BSOD or any other trouble) - What to do  ?
A:
0) Follow (Read) instructions on Main Plugin.
Try to make a default build without changing any plugin.
At Virtual Test there are emulator plugins available to test final.
VMware Player and Virtual Box are free emulators to test with.
Tip: qEmuX (latest qEmu) can test SE projects slowly - qEmu (old) can not test SE projects

0b) Be sure your base folder is short, under "root\sub folder",
Ex:
extract zip file to
D:\Oven
folder
ex: Fix "Booting to black screen" http://TheOven.org/index.php?topic=1476

**
using D:\ drive instead of C:\ may have effect.

0c) Be sure your source folder is short,
ex: D:\S\Win10_x64
(extract your .iso to D:\S\Win10_x64 == Or == Copy your cd to D:\S\Win10_x64 )

1) Be sure about your source
SE users follow Q: Win SE  Support Which Sources ? on current topic.
(YES official msdn ISOs, NO  RS2 insiders build , NO Iso with integrated Hotfix or CU)

Gena users, use standart WinXP/2k3 source, follow Q: Gena Support Which Sources
(Gena: no nlite reply 8 http://TheOven.org/index.php?topic=1417.msg16386#msg16386 , no "Dell OEM CD", ...)

1b) Be sure you DO NOT change 'Target Directory' and 'Iso File' settings
One only needs to select the SOURCE and leave all other values at their Default settings..
Reply 22 http://TheOven.org/index.php?topic=834.msg17158#msg17158

1c) Be sure you * Disable AntiVirus
(or add folder to AntiVirus Exclusion list)
(Anti Virus - False Positive - FalsePositive - Antimalware - Antivirus -Antispyware)
++ Sometimes "Disable AntiVirus" no work on some AV,  Some AV features not disabled and can result unbootable.
++ Remiding Windows Defender on Windows 10 (maybe also others) is active and hidden from Windows Desktop. Search google to disable Windows Antivirus which maybe active.
         Comodo AV
a setting with Comodo AV cause unbootable result

And a funny false positive I see recently:
http://www.zhornsoftware.co.uk/caffeine/

Quote
AV warning: Annoyingly, some Antivirus products detect the above file as having a virus in it - something called Razy or Spursint.A. It's connected with the new icons added in April 2016. The icon file which I added is clean, but if I build the app with those cool new icons in, it then scans as infected. Building the app with the old icons does not - there is no other difference.

So here's the same download, just without the new icons, if this causes you trouble

2) Update Project:
Use
"Utils\Update XXX (Exact and Secure)" -> 'Update (Download and Copy)'
to get latests plugins from server.
So you may get fixes that maybe relevant to your trouble.
Ex:
http://TheOven.org/index.php?topic=1444
Reply 87 http://TheOven.org/index.php?topic=1350.msg16910#msg16910

3) Test with Default settings with Default plugins. (Change nothing only exception see following steps)
Tip:
After using once,
Utils\"Update XXX (Exact and Secure)" -> 'Update (Download and Copy)'
Than
Utils\"Update XXX (Exact and Secure)" -> "Restore" button ===> Will get you Back to Default settings with Default plugins in some seconds.

4) SE users:
Use
Utils\"Extract Wim Folders"
to get your source extracted,
this will extract wim/esd etc. files which sometimes helps fixing some troubles (+bonus build faster  )

ps: PreRequest above: 0c) Be sure your source folder is short

fixing some troubles Ex:
Reply 83-86: http://TheOven.org/index.php?topic=1350.msg16761#msg16761
Error with mounting source: http://TheOven.org/index.php?topic=1509.0

Bonus: You will build faster.

If still fails:
4) SE users:
Try
"Main Configuration" --> change all "Import HostOS" to Auto

5) SE users:
use enu source following "List of..." or "Download ...." button on Main Screen (Main Plugin) of project.

6) SE users:
Disable Drivers\"Driver Integration" Plugin - a driver can cause unwanted results...
Ex:
 http://TheOven.org/index.php?topic=1495
 http://TheOven.org/index.php?topic=1443

7) If your build success, but some plugins not work,
 Keep in mind,
   Old scripts not supported,
Adding them also can cause other plugins failure.
\Downloads\ provides Hunderds of working plugins,
and it takes only some seconds to create new plugins with Utils\PC Packed

If ALL fails, report with LOG
SE\"Main Configuration" ---> Enable 'Create Support Log'
Gena\Basic\"PrepPE" -------> Enable 'Create Support Log'
Make default build (big blue), provide LOG package  ( ...7z )

DO NOT post meaningless pictures or info,
This only shows failure but give no information why this happens.
    No Log, No Cook.
     Always provide LOG.

Tip:
If mkisof fails, there is oscdimg available:
Finals\"Create ISO" --> Create ISO Tool : oscdimg

mkisof is faster, report failures to get it fixed, or slow iso creation

Q: Logon screen is missing?

A: You definitely do not know what you are using...
Tip: Use WinNTSetup to create Portable Windows - http://TheOven.org/index.php?topic=1236.0

Q: Can I use these projects as "undamageable" windows kind  ?
Q: How to install SE to hd ?
maybe, but you should not,
There is license issue, PE will not work with many stuff, you have System priveledges which you can do (destroy) anything ..
It maybe better create a Portable Windows like WinNTSetup  http://TheOven.org/index.php?topic=1236.0  http://TheOven.org/index.php?topic=1240.0
or
Use something applications like https://www.google.com.tr/search?q=reset+to+previous+windows+every+bot&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&gws_rd=cr&ei=pgHmVMSNMs7paMW3gZAH#q=application+reset+to+previous+windows+every+boot+internet+cafe
(The ones I know: Deep Freeze, Farstone Restore IT )
or
simply make your backup with an application and restore when required..
or
Use Kiosk Mode see ChrisR reply 4 http://TheOven.org/index.php?topic=1218.msg14255#msg14255
....

If you are not aware you are using a power tool,  don't use,
if you like new features to be added, and not exists, try to add such feature and contribute to projects.

Shortly: Currently There are no Portable Windows project available that have all features of windows.
On The other Hand there is WinNTSetup   http://TheOven.org/index.php?topic=1236.0  http://TheOven.org/index.php?topic=1240.0
which you can install Windows to VHD

Q: What's the differences in download between AppGS, AppY, AppYGS and Yomi?
A:
See Reply 3

WinXSE - NT6x

Keep in mind (Common Sense):
WinXSE Projects are very mostly similar on core settings,
still things maybe slightly different and sometimes specific, follow common sense:thumbsup:

Q: Win SE  Support Which Sources ?
A: There is "List of ..." button on main interface of all projects,
SE support (tested) only with these sources,
if links don't work, login ms to download or google internet to find the .iso image

Trying other sources is up to end user luck ( BSOD ),
All MSDN sources are not supported,
get "Supported Source" mostly Official MSDN ISO , No RS2 Insiders build
Developer edition if not written not supported, get "Supported Source"
Updated Sources (Cumulative Update (CU), Hot fix) NOT supported, good luck, see topic http://theoven.org/index.php?topic=1980

Do not expect feedback with such unsupported sources,
they are not supported, we do not have free time to test all .iso images by MSDN or individuals, all up to your luck.
Still it is nice to report results with such sources

Change X:/Boot Drive Letter from X:/ to C:/?
A: See JFX reply http://theoven.org/index.php?topic=2018

Q: I couldn't launch any programs which is on 'Programs' folder. (And there was Warning Icon on background) ?
TAG: Q:I have a very, very long delay and after that a black screen with pxe boot.? (Tag: samba-server )

A: Boot Media can not be accessed by Windows, whatever reason (driver missing, pxe ...)
Solutions:
*
A1) Solid Solution (All Users: Normal, PXE etc.):
 Build\"CdDrive - X: - Y:" have Run All from Ram option.
For some more info Check Runfrom,RAM info here http://TheOven.org/index.php?topic=452.0

A2) If you want to keep programs at Y drive (out of boot.wim) and still want a solution:

A2_B1) Normal User:
Check http://driverpacks.net/ packages ( http://driverpacks.net/driverpacks/latest ) ,
 there is Drivers\"Driver Integration" plugin,
Keep in mind, devices = drivers increase everyday, some drivers does not have simple nature,
these drivers requires some work from end user and share around
   ex: http://TheOven.org/index.php?topic=1330

A2_B2) PXE User:
Check
 "Components\PXE Support"
   plugin, made by 2aCD,
if it doesn't work for you
-> let us know if you can fix
-> you have a "A1) Solid Solution" at hand to save the day

A2 EOF)
If for any reason, you don't have Y: drive after boot
-> after waiting long and you get to desktop,
and on explorer you see files of cd drive (or iso or network) but with wrong letter (not Y: or not mounted),
There is "Start Menu\System Tools\ReMount CdDrive Y" shortcut available

Q: How to get SE bootable on USB - Disk - UFD (USB Flash Disk) etc. ?
*
There are plugins to ease this task
WriteMedia\Copy to USB-Device
WriteMedia\Copy to USB-Device BCD BootMGR
++
Tip: At least Format once usb stick with "WriteMedia\Copy to USB-Device... plugins.
Win7PESE-formatted usbstick may not work with Win10PESE, when you reformat it will.
*
If you create a .iso boot use
Utils\WinContig
There is also
Utils\BootIce Pauly
Available to create bootable drive etc.
*
For Grub4dos (and isolinux etc.)
Gena\WriteMedia\Tutorial Gena Disk Boot
plugin provides a general way and ready tools, menu.lst etc. to boot .iso, which works also on SE
*
On .iso boot,
To get Program files inside .iso
1) put .ini file side by side with .iso at root folder ( ex: Win7PESE.ini , Win7PESE_x86.ISO )
2) or use Run all from RAM option ( Build\CdDrive - X: - Y: --> Run all programs from RAM)
+
Reminding: On .iso boot, if you get Stop 7f when booting from USB ,
On SE there is a plugin 'Copy to USB device' which has "Use .iso boot" checkbox
+
Reminding: On .iso boot, for SE projects there is Utils\WinContig to get .iso file contigious (else it may not boot)
Gena\WriteMedia\Tutorial Gena Disk Boot also have cmd tool to get file contigious

TheOven CWcodes

Some words about our nice home for code cooking :)

If you are a nice people, you will have nice time and fun around.  :cheerleader: :magic: :smart: :matrix:

TheOven.org is NOT a General Forum,
General Forums have a simple goal, commercial  $$$$$$$ ,
They need to increase total activity # post #,
( Bounce Rate Daily Pageviews per Visitor Daily Time on Site .....)
There are some professional General Forums, and None Professional ones,
None Professional General Forums have single(+1+2) Admin that do "anything" to increase total activity.
They give some fake objectives to public,
They are like "I open Forum to Save the World, Join us"

I mean "anything" :
None Professional Forums do sneaky things:
Some Forums say they are legal forums and warez not allowed,
when you dig you can easily find undistributable materials added to forum by Forum Admins with fake Members.
They put sloppy closed source softwares, that looks good only at first run, not usable in long term.
They create fake members to put undistributable materials that attract attention of public.
(some fake members are very static with hundreds of posts, it is like puppet show made by one. )
They create fake members to open topics to add files about some softwares on internet they find.
They look other side when a real new member put an undistributable materials or illegal materials to topics.
When there is no activity, just to have at least some daily activity, either with fake or real members, they create chats about "nothing" or "looks like something but about nothing"
They attack other forums members to simply disturb, "post games".
They try to fool some other people to work for them, "post games" .

As long as you post these forums, you are tolerated maximum to do anything

* There are also Post Games by normal people,
Same pattern used same with "None Professional Forum" Admins (aka Idiots)
Simply, they try to "look good" to get things they selfishly they are after.
+ They are mostly lazy or in principal lazy ;) . one of idiot detection
+ They can "Hey I made a nice free software and share to public, I am a Good Person", which as written above none usable in long term.
+ Some are more clever, To avoid none usability in long term, they make very simple free softwares to give the spirit "Hey I made a nice free software and share to public, I am a Good Person".
+ They can feedback you (software, website etc.) by reporting any missing or bug (which will always exist  ) to give impression "He look I help you, I am a Good Person" ;).
+ They ignore things on posts and reply things they want, it is same with jokes but in real life "man bite dog" without story behind.
...

* There is also a Post Game  by idiot people we know from past,
with the goal of bad advertising projects on topics around here !!!!!
+
They know projects, so they break plugins or mix plugins in a way to fail projects,
They open topics about failure, and complain about how bad projects are :)
Usual idiots
Last case is : mikhoul and a suspicious one balouh
+
Some ignore fixes already provided,
a suspicious one besco who can not find ‘Download Official Windows 10ISO’ button
+
Some ignore information already provided by project messages....

Sneaky Post Gamers hide themselves in General Public,
They are like cancers, unlike they have nothing to do only waste time,
  once detected ban.  :raygun:
    idiots.....

When they are exposed, liars can not hide forever  ,
they play the game "I did nice things, I am innocent, the one who expose me is the bad guy."

Currently latest idiot is wingers post games:
http://TheOven.org/index.php?topic=1434.msg16869;topicseen#msg16869

Sneaky Idiots and Children always follow Same pattern

All above are stupid games, same with 5 year old boys girls, more visible with age 17-21 young girls,
but harmful (waste time) on internet.

I follow these patterns more than 10 years now,
I was yet another innocent nice guy that was fooled by some old idiots,
It is the reason behind creating TheOven.org forum, working on hobby stuff at a nice forum.

These "post games" are the one we mainly suffer on TheOven.org ,
we do not need such "post games",
TheOven.org is NOT a commercial forum.

Any idiot once detected will be banned,
They have time to waste others time,
We do not have time to waste.

We had created this forum to easily work on things without interruptions from idiots,
TheOven.org Forum and our file server CWcodes.net (Cooking With Codes) are fully open to public, without advertisements, limitation, etc.
so far 5 years passed since forum created, and we work on this stuff more than 5 years now.

ps: There is Spam protection that prevents giving direct link and modifying own posts, after 10 posts you can give direct links and modify your own posts.

Since we naturally have no goals for post # , member # , click # , $ , ....  members who have good intentions welcome

very different than an application projects where you can request things more easy.
these are NOT application kind projects.

Don't expect requesting something will be made quickly,
due to nature of complexity of projects,
with not being an application project,
it is not easy to implement things.
See FAQ: Q: I want a feature but does not work (or does not exists) ?

Contributions is highly welcomed,
Good contributions are welcomed a lot

I had a little misunderstanding about the FAQ, actually the thread is coming along just fine, no need to change anything...
ChrisR, your example is very good! One question per post, with links in the first post. Excellent idea!!!

Do you want to make PEX-builds as fast and reliable as possible ?

Use the Extracted_Wim_Folders plugin available in Utils Folder.

Option widely used for a faster and more reliable building, no need to mount/unmount images at each building.

Just select your Source Directory (in builder, tab source) and then click 'Goooo' button in Extract Wim Folders plugin:
It simply extracts .wim files of your source to get them ready (one time operation) and make required settings on project.
Now you can easly make many builds without Error when mounting/unmounting source OR boring waitings during mount/unmount ;)

No rush, of course. I hope that your connection will be better soon
Otherwise, Indeed, I think it is better with the forum and by adding a link in the main script of projects (script.project).
Be free of course to edit my posts for my English, to be more clear and concise...
Be free also with the presentation that you feel is best.
And Indeed it is good to give editing rights to Atari800xl, so that he is fully free

Thank you for opening this topic
Here is my first one.
I used {color=blue}{size=12pt}{b}Question?{/b}{/size}{/color}.  It could be with Q's and A's or Q: and A:, I change if you prefer.
It should be better to have a single Question/Answer by post.
And maybe the order of Question can be done in the first post with a link to the post.

How to get small builds that requires smaller ram & size ?

Look at what each setting does, check the "Components" (do you need network?), Drivers, etc. etc.
Look at the Projects\Win8PESE\subfolders (eg. Components), the largest scripts usually take the most space, do you need them all? Flash?, VC Runtimes? .Net Framework? etc

Select Compression Maximum in 'Finals\PostConfig' to get .wim file smaller.
Prefer applications that can be used directly in CD/USB (RunFrom,CD).

BSOD 'Cache_Manager in WinPE5.0, what to do ?

In Windows 8.1 the FBWF driver has some limitations and it is limited to 512 Mb for cache size.

Use fbwf.sys drivers of Windows 8 Embedded Standard much more suited to the needs. It also allows you to choose a size of 768 Mb or 1024 Mb.
It is already included in Win8.1SE (Delta patch to remain legal).

Try with a minimum size for FBWF, corresponding to your needs, your Apps (ex: 256 Mb - 512 Mb).
If it is not enough, increase the cache size in 'Build\2 - Shell & Config'.

Note: Increasing the cache size will give you more Writable space on the boot drive, but less RAM will be available for System use.

Hi  ChrisR

Note: Increasing the cache size will give you more Writable space on the boot drive, but less RAM will be available for System use.

It's okay!

Size FBWF - will change dynamically from RAM!
But not more than the normal 768 or 1000mb.

Okay,
 After thinking some more,
I made a small start, check intial post.

It occur to me, "hey we are using HyperText  :w00t:"
Even only gathering Q is enough with some links. (check 3a 3b above)

I feel This would confort all ,
Atari800xl can even write a tutorial on a subject hence we can put a simple Q and A to pointing such tutorial
We can gather lots of Q A around easly

I will ask Galapo give permission to Chris - Atari800xl to edit initial post of current topic

I feel we are slowly getting to somewhere, still I will follow other ideas.

Hi Doberman

Thank you for this precision
It seems that I need to read or test more WES8 FBWF according to size selected. I'm not sure I fully understand.
I'm busy this afternoon, and to take care of my wife and children I try to make slowly the weekend

Offtopic: I tested your latest Win8.1 Russian PE. It is really very good , I will look at it a little more when I have free time.
however, I do not have the network in VMware even after using DevInst -auto2 shortcut.
I really love Alexey's devinst tool (Windows Installer driver/WinPE ) to install drivers on a runnig PE  and your packs NT6x86/NT6x64 are really good.
Maybe you can write a small tutorial on a new topic to present briefly this Great tool. I would try to make a script for it, later, maybe.

Q: How to use / test plugin after build ?
A:
No need to rebuild all times
If you already made a build (big blue play),
Just use 'green play' button on such plugin, which adds things ..
(When developing or testing plugins, check errors etc. on such plugin)

After you get green button work on plugin, to see the result:

WinXSE: Finals\"PostConfig"
-----> use button "Create new Target Image and ISO"
or
-----> use small button "Create new Target Image and ISO and Start Emulator"

Gena: Finals\2 Create Image
-----> use green play button of the 'Create Image' plugin you like,
than you can see result with one of Virtual Test plugin

Q: Where to find other plugins ?
A: We tried to ease such task quite a lot:

Intro:
General plugins are compatible to eachother
and
TheOven projects designed to be used on very same base folder

1)
Gena have great number of plugins that can be used on WinXSE (vice versa )
Assuming you are using one of WinXSE,
download Gena side by side (same folder) with WinXSE
Use
1a) WinXSE\"Share Plugins" --> button "Get Links From"  (with "Gena" selected)
1b) Gena\Utils\"Share Plugins" --> button "Share Plugins with" --> Select WinXSE (if not exists, use "Custom" checkbox filling export project name)

2)
We have Yomi Project which is a General Plugin collection ( 100 >= plugins)
Follow instructions here http://theoven.org/index.php?topic=175.0

3)
You can download individual plugins from
"General Plugin" section http://theoven.org/index.php?board=9.0
See
Also See: Adding 3rd party plugins
http://TheOven.org/index.php?topic=1208

You can also use Utils\"MyPlugins Project Add"
to add your plugins to project

And don't forget to search forum with Google:
ex: Macrium site:TheOven.org
https://www.google.com.tr/search?q=Macrium+site:TheOven.org&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&gws_rd=cr&ei=pBnKVZSrIKuqygPmypKwBQ

Q: Where to find project specific plugins ?
A:
As princaple we %99 put project specific plugins to projects
For %1 case, Check Forum section for such plugin
A special case on Gena, we also have "Yomi Gena" collection, http://TheOven.org/index.php?topic=176.0

edit:
also check reply 6 here http://theoven.org/index.php?topic=928.msg11608#msg11608

I added some more, but first things first, now I have to go back to finals,
My semester will end ~10 days later, than I can produce more

Till that times, I will follow your inputs untill Galapo give permission to you (ChrisR and Atari800xl)

@Galapo

Q: How to Test Commands without plugin ?
A: At Tools->Options --> Enable Codebox
After that, you will notice a codebox button on main screen,
Write something under [process]
Code: [Select]
Message,"Hello TheOven.org"
and click Green Play button at up right
than click log button to see result
This will both ease
1) Learning
2) Small testing

++
If you get a "unrecognized" warning, it is yet another winbuilder bug,
  only add this to top:
Code: [Select]
[process]
If,ExistFile,%API%,AddVariables,%API%,ApiVar,GLOBAL
-> this also exists at wand (right click on editor -> at bottom Macro Library -> Others -> ML_Codebox)

Another example:
Code: [Select]
[Process]
If,ExistFile,%API%,AddVariables,%API%,ApiVar,GLOBAL
Call,HostOSArch
Echo,HostOSArch=%HostOSArch%
Message,"HostOSArch=%HostOSArch%",Information

There are lots of ready examples at Macro Library sections,
like Call command
http://TheOven.org/index.php?topic=45.0

you can simply copy paste these examples to CodeBox , test and see how things works  :great:

Q: What are Commands to use on plugin syntax ?
A: There are 2 types of Commands, Native Commands and Macro Library Commands
Native Commands: See existing plugins, it is quite easy to follow
Attention:
NEVER use a native command (or/and its sub feature) that does NOT exists on plugins,
current tool has tons of bugs :medusa:, just check how we handle commands on plugins.
Macro Library Commands: Check here: http://theoven.org/index.php?board=14.0
Macro Library Commands Serves

1) Things to to that can not be done with Native Commands
Most popular ones:
Add_Shortcut http://theoven.org/index.php?topic=50.0
Require_FileQ http://theoven.org/index.php?topic=43.0
Runfrom http://theoven.org/index.php?topic=452.0
Secondary Popular:
Call http://theoven.org/index.php?topic=45.0
Require,File http://theoven.org/index.php?topic=454.0
Require,Font http://theoven.org/index.php?topic=42.0

2) Workaround lots of bugs of current builder.

NEVER use a native Macro (or/and its sub feature) that does NOT documented at Macro Library http://theoven.org/index.php?board=14.0
We slowly get rid of old macros in time, if you use such commands we guarantee you Plugin will not work in future.
