Is it normal during boot to have a pxe error on the screen right before the multiboot gui? On most machines it rolls right through it to the multiboot screen.

Hi carfan,

I do not know pxe stuff well, but my main suspect:

1)
check bios settings on these machines
I feel, at boot time, pxe is first device ;) bios searchs and fails, than boot continues with
Win7PE SE

well if main suspect is not the case, my other suspects:

2)
instead of Grub4dos, try using IsoLinux
Win7PESE\Main Configuration\"Boot Manager" - IsoLinux
3)
instead of Grub4dos, try using normal boot
Win7PESE\Main Configuration\"Boot Manager" - Auto
==> but you will loose otheros plugins, memtest ;)
3b)
you can also tset by changing used grub4dos version
Win7PESE\Finals\"4 - Create ISO" --> change attachment ;)

Hi Carfan,

Is it normal during boot to have a pxe error on the screen right before the multiboot gui? On most machines it rolls right through it to the multiboot screen.
Not easy to see the message, it goes too fast
I got it: no pxe stack commands(hangup means you have a problematic config)

I do not know what's wrong with 0.4.5c-2012-10-02 or generated menu.lst, there is not this message with the previous versions, if anyone knows.
I usually follow Chenall's versions but here I step back to version 0.4.5c-2012-06-19.

I also added --ignore-floppies --ignore-cd for the finds commands eg:
Code: [Select]
iftitle [find /ntldr] Find and Load NTLDR of Windows NT/2K/XP
find --set-root /ntldr
chainloader /ntldr
==>
Code: [Select]
iftitle [find --ignore-floppies --ignore-cd /ntldr] Find and Load NTLDR of Windows NT/2K/XP
find --set-root --ignore-floppies --ignore-cd /ntldr
chainloader /ntldr

Iso script and both CopytoUSB script are on server.

I'll try as soon as posible. I have 2 older machines with single p4 processors and both with floppy drives
that hang on this error message. I can see the error on the screen repeating itself until the screen goes black.
Both machines just sit there and hammer a drive (dont know which one)
untill I power down the machine.

New (or in this case old) modifications work great. No more pxe error or machine hangups. Thanks so much.
