I am a newbie, pardon for my ignorance.
In WinBuilder8.1SE - Under UTILS, I saw GImagex, so I thought it would include in the build, but once the build is completed and boot, I don't see it anywhere. How I add it to PStart??
I did a search and found wimgapi.dll under X:\windows\system32.  I am not sure how to use it?
Please give me step by step . TIA

The programs you see under "Utils" are just "helper utilities", in other words:
They HELP to create the build, but are not PART of the build.
To add GImagex to the build, it could be added to "Apps", I guess. Maybe someone else can explain to you how to do that.
Maybe GIMagex can also be started seperately (from a different folder, USB, etc).
I'm not even sure this particular program works under Win8.1SE, so again, maybe somebody else knows.

Hi

GImageX is the GUI frontend of ImageX tool. In Windows 8, there is no ImageX. All of it's functionality are embedded in to DISM. So what you need is actually a DISM GUI which is fortunately exists.

Thanks anshad, you can explain it much better than me. I do remember trying GImagex, but I guess at that time I also read that imagex was deprecated for 8.1.
Have you used that DISM gui? Do you like it? Thanks for the tip, anyway!
I use DISM for capturing images in PE all the time, and must admit I still don't know the syntax by heart... (always use /image instead of /imagefile, etc.)

Hi bachphi,

Pstart, following plugin Apps\Portable\"PStart and Papps"
click 'Open Source Folder', put your executables etc. , rest on plugin interface

Also,
you can add easly with Utils\"PC Packed" ( Plugin Creator ) to your build

bachphi, thanks for the tip!
Updates like that can be easily overlooked!
I'm still wondering what Anshad thinks of that other "Free-Dism-Gui" (haven't downloaded it yet, my adblocker blocked the download site, which is usually not a very good sign).

I still like to know step by step how to add it to PStart.
If you are asking for using plugin, Only follow plugin interface , interface itself is a step by step tutorial.

If you are asking for using "PStart" for portable usages, just download PStart from its homepage, check website FAQ etc., spend some minutes to figure out.

After you figure out

Since everybody around knows how to use Pstart etc. , and you are the one with discovery mode,
it is best a newbie (you) for future newbies to create
"Step by Step how to add it to PStart"

Oh man, that was brutal to ask a newbie to write a tut.!!
so here it goes:
1. Download & extract latest GImageX from http://www.autoitscript.com/site/autoit-tools/gimagex/. The latest version support win8.1.
2. For compatibility & assuming using X86 mode, copied other files to the GImageX folder: wimgapi.dll,wimmount.sys,wimprovider.dll,wimmountadksetupx86.exe,wimserv.exe .
3. Move/copy this folder to your Projects\Win8.1SE\Apps\Portable\Pstart\GImageX
4. Run Winbuider and traverse to Apps - Portable - PStart and Papps and add in GImageX directory and Name of exe, Start Menu folder and shortcut.
5. Click to play to build your project.

Well done,
just create a topic about what you write above

Remember, there will always be future newbies,
as you already aware finding topics is easier than finding a post in  the middle of a topic
