hello all,
I created a winbuilder usb bootable.
on most computers it boot fine.
But on a couple of HP workstations DC5000 & DC5100 it takes 20-25 minutes.
Both usb ports in front are usb 2.0.
I have not checked windows 7 "spining light balls" option.
Any thoughts why it takes so long to boot compared to 1 minute.
thank you

20-25 minutes sounds to me like it's loading at usb 1 speed. Not all usb 2 ports operate at usb 2 speed at boot.

Galapo.

thank you for this response.
My old bartpe boots slow too but not 20 minutes.
I wonder if useing a different BootManager.
Does anyone have a good link that describes them all?
I'm concerned if bootmanager is grubdos that I'll have to update drivers another way.
Or does the bootmanager not really effect boot speeds?
ty!

I edit your post unintentionally
I do not have change your text ;)
Yes, this seems to react as usb 1, Perhaps something to adjust in the BIOS.
Try maybe with Plop Boot Manager, to see if it's the same.

Thank you, I take it with pleasure
My pleasure is to have fun by building a nice project, to help others when I can and learn lots of good things.
There are plenty of good guys here and often much more skilled than me.
Hoping that Plop can help you

The time depends on the image size. My guess your BartPE has a smaller image size, hence a faster boot.

Galapo.
