Title: MiniTool Partition Wizard and Windows Autoplay setting.
Post by: gbrao on December 30, 2020, 05:05:24 PM
Many forum members use MiniTool Partition Wizard.

I always have Windows Autoplay disabled. When I run and exit MiniTool Partition Wizard, I find Autoplay enabled.

I have noticed this with more than one version of MPW and on more than one version of Windows, 32 & 64 bit.

Can anyone here confirm this ?

I have e-mailed MPW about this, btw.

yes, mtpw add this key to registry
Code: [Select]
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\AutoplayHandlers]
"DisableAutoplay"=dword:00000000

Yes. In my case it was set to 1 before running MPW.

Why would any program do this ? Without even informing users ?

It's quite a lousy/shady thing to do.

EDIT : And, I'm not sure of this, it persists. Even if you exit MTW and disable Autoplay it gets enabled automatically. Perhaps it's the pwdrvio service doing it.
