Hello.

I sure the answer is somewhere on the web but I can't find it  :embarrassed:

I'm looking to force the USB drive letter.

If I copy CdUsb.Y on USB Key this one will be mount as Y: !! Great but all the softwares add on my Winpese won't be available. To have them I need to set all .script on "Run from Ram" when it's possible to choose.

If I do not copy CdUsb.Y on my USB Key, the drive letter will change on each computer

So I'm looking for a solution simple as CdUsb.Y to set one for all the USB drive letter.

Something like CdUsb.Z

if you are using single stick:

tip: same trick available for drives (disk/partition microsd ... etc)

Easy way:
1)
get this stick with drive letter you like on your host windows

2)
Use
Gena\Adjunct\"MountedDevices Host"
plugin

Tip:
Gena\Utils\Share Plugins --> Share Plugins With .....
===> AppsG\"MountedDevices Host"

Well !!  :embarrassed:

Sometimes "MountedDevices Host" works and sometimes not.

With Win7PE that working on one laptop Asus but not on my EEPC Asus and 2 other towers I have
And with Gena doesn't work at all, sometimes it's C: and sometimes D: or F: or E: ...  :w00t:

I have Win7PE and Gena on the same UDB Key and boot them with Grub4dos.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong but I do not see what.

PS(maybe a lead for this problem, all PCs where "MountedDevices Host" doesn't work have a SSD)

interesting, I will take a memo for that...

maybe reason, usb3 ?? which seem to be loading late on PE.

well than manual way, inspect:

\System Tools\"Portable Finder CMD"

ps: Start with writing your Author name and Click "Save Personal"

It have ready codes to find drive letter with a flag file,
than you need to change drive letter,
check this

Doesn't work with Gena and Win7PE  :frusty:

I really think that the presence of the SSD has something to do with the problem.

A system like CdUsb.Y will be I think the best way to solve this. But to use CdUsb.Y on a USB key I need to set to "Run from Ram" all scripts and they have not all this option.

what doesn't work ?

which code you test ?

It is the only way (change letter after boot) you can go,
up to your spending time working on this,
  no code, no cook.
