ISO is unbootable with ventoy and aioboot.. and wimboot doesn't see any apps

So the default build works with no problem and boots successfully.. but if I add the some mega optional apps, the ISO is unbootable at all in ventoy and AIOboot and the bootmgr shows IO error and files not found..

I tried testing with the XPE host boot option and default build can boot successfully.. the customized build can boot but with no apps or shortcuts..

I tried putting the extracted ISO in ventoy USB and boot from wim and it works but no apps.. I can live with wimboot but I need to integrate the programs folder somehow in the boot.wim file, I tried doing it manually but the xpe environment still can't see the apps or make shortcuts..

I tried booting from RAM and disabling CDUSB.y but not fixed..

I tried to find the exact plugins that cause this issue but it seems random.. I keep switching plugins on and off and rebuilding and it boots sometimes.. I narrowed it down to the integrated drivers, the C++ and .NET integrations, the bluetooth and MTP options.. but it's still random even after disabling these plugins... I then tried booting the ISO directly in virtualbox and it worked.. It seems there are some plugins breaking the boot scenario of the ISO and un-linking the programs folder in the WIM boot.. looking for a workaround after spending 18 hours trying to fix..

So your problem seems to be with Ventoy?- as it reads like it booted fine in other ways?

i've been having the same problem (i did create a post miltiboot). you are not alone! aioboot doesn't even load the iso. the curious fact is that aioboot has a PEse version of winpe for download on their website (with options).
for what i've seen the problem is indeed related to the netframework plugin, but there is something else messing up the loading.
one thing you can try in aioboot is to select the "load iso to img" option (i think thats how it is on the aioboot tool menu), an see if you can get it loading.
As for ventoy... although i recognize it is pratical, i don't really like it. it does accept the iso but it doesnt load properly.
it would be nice to get it working.

Can you check, if you enabled the option "Run ALL programs from RAM"? This is the option to add all programs into WIM-file. So at least for me it's working.

i can now confirm that this solution works with aioboot (if you hit the big blue) if you rebuild just the core build and create iso it wont load the apps

The option to load all from RAM did integrate the programs in the wim file.. and it works correctly but only in UEFI boot.. legacy boot doesn't work and says not enough memory.. I tried also booting the wim directly with wimboot in ventoy but still only works in UEFI..

I think the problem is that the XPE fails to mount the iso after boot.. it doesn't detect that it loaded from a virtual disk made by ventoy in bootloader because of a conflict in drivers between the boot environment and the OS.. I contacted the developer of ventoy and he said there is a way to make the iso file readable to the OS after boot and it's called "ventoy compatible".. he said ventoy can pass the ISO details and mount point to the OS but it needs work on XPE part (changing the boot parameters) and adding a mark file in the iso..

Still it seems this is a problem on XPE side because this issue only happens with some plugins enabled.. the stock plugins (without mega addons) work correctly for me with all options enabled and with dot net 3.5..

i do not use ventoy, but with aio everything works fine, even with mega plugins.
i had not try in legacy, but it seems you are right. i have tried using rufus with mbr option and i get the same error you do. since it says " ....bios and uefi" in the"create iso" i've been searching for the problem, but no luck yet.
